Featured Replies

Morning...

I dont want to get a taxi, but would prefer bus, save money, is it the bus 59? or is there another bus, and where abouts do I get it.

Thank you

Let's try this over in the Bangkok forum.

Topic Moved.

check Lonely Planet, they might know over there since no one seems to here. either that or round up other khao san people at airport - a printed sign perhaps - and share a taxi

LP's Thorn Tree has been offline for some time. Most of the archives are not back yet. But it's worth a shot. Or, try a google search and see what shows up. Plenty of internet forums out there.

I have been looking online, this is where I saw it mentioned about the 59 bus but that was 2008..

From the main road outside of the airport heading into Bangkok (in other words the same side as the airport), heads down towards Democracy Monument.

LP-there is still the BOOK!! Plus that TT/LP TH is now back on-thorughly censured.

Bangkoktransit is OUT OF DATE In this matter-tried to contact this site, but got bumped on listed @mail.

here IS a sign on the busstop listing all buses- In englsih, japanese and now even Chinese. Note that 59 is NOT the fastest-and most buses on it are SHORT routes ending at the Bang Khen garage-where no farang would wish to be. Waits for the allthewaybus can last for 1 hr or more and the ride itself also easily takes 80-90-100 mins!!

(did it last nov with a van+free bus in less as 45 mins though)

A taxi-picked up without the endless Q at that same busstop-and without tollway (not really needed anyway midday) is around 150/160 THB-just to get an idea of the immense savings
