If you are teaching someone to drive using your own car how do you stand with your insurance if you had a shunt.

Is there licence for new drivers

Sent from my run of the mill desktop computer with a screen that I don't need to squint at, using CAT internet connection.

I believe that the insurance covers the vehicle, no matter who is driving.

If you are concerned, it is best to check with your insurance company before teaching somebody to drive.

They may have an issue about an unlicensed driver and it's best to be sure before you have to claim.

If they do not have a DL then they are illegal and so no insurance coverage

Suggest get them a DL then teach them how to drive smile.png

Sometimes you are right, sometimes wrong. Impossible to give an answer to a question like this without seeing the policy.

It depends on the policy, the only way to be sure is asking the insurance company. There may also be a difference in 3rd party and own damage coverage, so be sure to check that as well.
