David48
@ David48 Thanks for sharing that video David. Are all the ponds in view being used by your good lady's family? Yep ... though most are owned by Farm Fathers brothers. His mother (MissFarmGirl's Grandmother) split the larger Farm and gave all the kids a parcel each. Most don't have interest in Farming their allotment, so Farm Father rents their ponds ... hence the large operation. He employs one worker. For some harvets he gets in an external team, but most harvests are done with the help of the likes of MissFarmGirl, Farm Fathers grandchildren, brothers and neighbours. . The prawn harvest only takes a team of 4 if the pond is not being drained. . .

shaggy1969
Working the rice paddies. wow! those are tiny rice paddies! Not quite the same as the ones in your area eh !!! It is difficult to see from that image but the paddies are stepped. Depending on the rainfall or how much water is in the pond at the top step the farmers can decide how much or little of the paddies to use. Check out the photo below.

Popular Post samuijimmy
No a lot different than the rice fields in Songkhla there shaggy! Most are 10 or 12 rai plots! Here is a picture of a concoxious mixture made up from Neem, lemon grass and I don't know what else... one of the worse smells I have ever smelt! It had been brewing away for a while.... Purpose to spray rice and other crops for bugs... I think just the smell along would keep anything away.... I sure would not want to spray it! You can even see my friend holding his face back, but it took a few meters to get away from the smell... We took about 10 litres back to the farm, I left the next morning!

Popular Post Dancealot
The combination of all 3 for you comes to mind. Back on topic, yes! - My turkeyfarm incident, last month. Turkeys checking out the intruder still unsure if he is hostile or not. Turkeys detect the possible agressor as a farang and swiftly safequard the fellow, helpless ducks The main alpha turkey is showing hostility to farang while the turkey in the back sneakily calls in for backup. Anrgy puppy's assist in the attack by making loud barking noises Turkey's win Farang loose Edited May 2, 2013 by Dancealot
