1Gringo
just curious about this. I am banned from reading Rolling Stone mag on line with 3BB. is there a good reason for this? is everybody banned from Rolling Stone on all of the ISP's? bristolgeoff
maybe the rolling stone magazine is considered porn and you should not be reading it online
Tywais
I remember this issue from a while back regarding the stones site but can't find the topic at the moment. But yes, can not access from 3BB. However, using VPN I can get to it so the site is up.

1Gringo
I'm unfamiliar with the recommended techniques. I'm not tech savvy, but I'll look around. thanks for the explanations.
Thai Dreamer
Why the hell would this be banned? Thailand is never short of frustrating.

Guess he didn't read the link I posted. It is a GeoIP block by the company and not Thailand and probably based on concerns of copyright issues. But as another topic states, they should have a more user friendly message such as 'not available in your region'.
Ulysses G.
yes, various ways to get at it...including vtunnel, hotspot/hotshield or spotflux... just to mention a few free ones... also ultrasurf Thanks for that. I'm sick of being blocked from so much content, but do not want to pay for a VPN.
Mekong Bob
yes, various ways to get at it...including vtunnel, hotspot/hotshield or spotflux... just to mention a few free ones... also ultrasurf Any particular free one you would recommend to use from Chiang Mai? Is it possible to flip from one of these VPNs to my local ISP (3BB), and back again, while browsing? Better to have a fixed (static) IPA address on a VPN or one that changes constantly> Thanks in advance for your advice!

Better to have a fixed (static) IPA address on a VPN or one that changes constantly> Thanks in advance for your advice! as one person noted, tunnelbear is also available... think i tried that one, but you had to install a program. Use whatever you are comfortable with. vtunnel is a website you go to and then put in the address you want to go to in the vtunnel space... so you can use it for only one site and continue browsing as normal, with the other tabs in the browser and it won't affect your torrents (for example).... OTOH... one like ultrasurf, while you don't install it (per se), it is an app that you launch each time and when you do that, even your torrents start going (automatically) thru the proxy... also ultrasurf censors (as in porn) and won't allow access to the list of its banned sites (never saw the list, but do know that they employ a "censor") most of the others available are just a website that shifts you thru... for me, personally, i use that kind, rather than ultrasurf because my private torrent trackers often detect the proxy and then block transfer of files.... just give some/one a try and see what feels right to you
