Guys ... my friends sons girlfriend and baby came over to the UK in April last year and stayed about four and a half months. I was surprised that they got a visa but they did. So now he is overhere for a holiday and I guess that he wants GF and baby to go over again ... He has asked me if she is likely to be granted another visa if she applies in the next few days ... any ideas/views on his chances.

Again no reason to return but that didn't seem to affect the last application

As long as she did not break the terms of her previous visa she can re-apply at any time. She has been approved for a visa already and complied with its requirements. That is the good news!

Less good news is there is a convention (although not written into the law) that a visitor should not stay in the UK for more than 6 months out of any twelve month period.

She will need to provide evidence that shows she meets all of the requirements (as before). 4½ months is a pretty long holiday and it may take a little convincing an ECO that these are genuine visits but it has been done before!
