Must admit I know nothing of Chiang Mai Cowboy but the Cowboy of BKK Soi Cowboy T.L.Edwards passed away some years ago.

I spoke to his compatriot Andy who 'Owned' Cowboy 1 on Soi Cowboy and he told me that after leaving Thailand, he owed big to the Indian Maffia, he set up in the Philippines and after continuing his attempt to drink Scotland's yearly consumption of Scotch he had to be evacuated to the States where he passed on in a Veterans Hospital down south.

Really hope and pray that his passing is just a rumor... Have known him for many, many years , back to the days of the Cowboy Guest House before it became River Deli in the mid 90's.

Haven't seen much of him over the past year or two, but hope its just a rumor.... one of a kind, Com'on Cowboy, pop up and let someone know where you are hiding...

Yes Cowboy has joined Max & others. Too much booze finally got the better of him. Sad to say as he was a good guy who made all foreigners welcome. Can't say much more as he was one of a kind and sadly missed. I drank a lot of Master Blend with him!!! each time I rolled into his bar. Not sure where Nim is? his girlfriend. RIP old buddy!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I was in Cowboy bar about a week before it shut its doors for good . . . .about nine months to a year ago now if I remember correctly. I never met Mr. Cowboy but the older woman who claimed to be the owner of the property (maybe a wife or gf?) and all the staff said that the man who used to own the bar was named "Cowboy" and he had passed away. They were pretty clear about it. Next time I went back the bar was closed and there was a for sale/lease sign on the place. I've never seen it open since.

I had held on to the to the slim hope that the bar and the lifestyle had become too much for Cowboy and he had closed up shop for the good of his health. These last 2 post's now confirm my worst fears. He was one heck of a guy and as said made anyone who came through his door feel welcome. RIP and happy trails my friend.
