I have been paying four Thai workers all year long and have just been told by Labor Dept that only one Thai worker is needed for a foreigner work permit.

I also can hire Burmese for additional workers as I have shown the Thai workers are unreliable ( keep records of no show, late etc and issue warnings that they sign . )

The four worker rule is from immigration for a one year extension on a B the visa. So I figure I could have l saved heaps by just making a 90 day visa run ( I pay 4 workers over 600 a day, I really only need 1--2 workers )

Wish I'd known this last year- not sure where I go the mistaken info, but it has run me into the ground

Also have learned to keep worker contract period at under 120 days, that way they cannot claim any severance if they get fired or quit.

If they quit, there is no need to pay severence.

You probably can't keep the same worker on 120 day contracts, that would be trying to circumvent the law and a judge would probably not go along with that.

Are you married to a Thai and if so is your spouse a director/manager of the company?

How long has your company been operating?

Do you have a Burmese Worker Quota allocation already?

Is yours a Thai Limited Company?

Burmese Labour come under a different category with Labour and thus are not counted as regards any calculation of foreign vs Thai worker ratios.

Well as many times as my workers don't show up... After every time they get a new contract on probation They do not deserve severence. But good to know. Thanks

^ I know Burmese workers are a different ..species.

I already talked to the labor dept, the Burmese section actually had someone who can speak English, too !! He said I can hire Burmese workers.

( How is it English is the official second language, the Labor(orious) Dept deals with foreigners, yet no signs, no lists no nothing is in English. Even the stupid queuing machine )

I will have to apply. I really only need one.

I understand one Thai worker is necessary .In fact He'll can be my new "director", and I give up the piece of sh*t work permit and stop paying taxes out the y*ng.
