Hell to all.

I have a 2002 toyota soluna for nine months now.

Running well except for the full beam headlights.

The were working when i bought the car,but after 3 months i started to have problems.

They started to become intermittent, some times work sometimes not. i have taken out the indicator

Switch to check in and its fine.

I have checked the bulbs, their fine too.

I remember i rented a 2008 vios a few years back and that had the same problem.

The guys in the rental shop brought it to some back street garage.

he drove all the back streets of pattaya to get there and for the life of me i cant remember were its is

Have any of you guys have this problem before ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I took out the stalk and cleaned the contact with some cotton buds with carb cleaner on them.

Sometimes it is a dirty connection. Even if you don't know what is what. Pull out and refit every relay and fuse one at a time.

I had problems with my Nissan pickup, twice. Both times it was the switch assembly, no relays involved, they put the full load through the switch. Last time the switch was 1750 baht.

a mate of mine had this problem with a toyota, it turned out to be the metal connector in the plug that fits onto the bulb itself, due to the high current needed for the high beam it warped the spade connector until it was loose causing intermittant and eventually no high beam, we just teased it closed again carefully with a small screwdriver, fix lasted for about 8 months before he had to do it again

Hi Guys.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

As stated before, was a old relay with dirty connection.

I had checked all the relays and all seemed well.

Then i decided to follow the wiring from the headlights

And there, hidden in the side wall was another two relays.

I hade the light on the full beam setting and when went at the

relay with a screwdriver to pry it lose. BINGO.

So, took out both relays, squirt of carb cleaner and a toothbrush.

now 100%.

a very big thank you for all your help guys.

Nah, you didn't tell him the high-beam relay was in a secret location.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
