Plumber Wanted - Nongjom, San Sai Area

Recommended Posts

Posted

Morning all,

Can anyone recommend a competent plumber in the above area? I need a toilet refitting and whilst he'll be supervised, as it is in our ensuite, I want a reliable bloke who is not going to case the joint or be light fingered. Any recommendations based on previous experiences would be appreciated.

With thanks in advance,

Pikey.

No luck. You might try to find a plumber first and then tell him where to go. Could cost a little more but at least you will have a plumber.

Try not to treat them like a bar girl.

When I bought my bathroom fixtures ask if they included the fitting and they send a plumber to install new fixtures. As I live in norng jom I went to a retailer shop between the mae jo turning off the superhighway on the left before the doi saket junction

Reread your treatment of them.

Hmmm, I have never "treated" a plumber in my life, neither do I entertain bar girls in my house - not that it's any of your business.

Thailand, like anywhere else in the world, has it's fair share of dodgy characters and the aim of my post was to minimise the likelyhood of me employing such a chap by asking for personal recommendations. A fellow board member has kindly hooked me up via PM so my post achieved it's purpose.

Thanks for the advice - next time, keep it to yourself.

I gave up on plumbers, now the wife does most jobs. Fixed the noisy cistern, replaced a float in another one, sorted out the blue pipe outside, replaced the kitchen tap and rebuilt the leaky drain and just finished tiling the kitchen wall. Have to replace a complete toilet in her own place, if she can't find someone she trusts she is going to give that a go as well. Since I bought a mitre saw I do all the carpentry, wood feature walls etc. After a couple of renovations behind us found you are often better to tackle many jobs yourself, easier than trying to fix the mess the Chang makes.

I agree. Me and the g/f do a much better and neater, cleaner job at plumbing repairs than anyone we've had come over.

Same for me in most cases. In the 6 years we have owned the house I have replaced 2 waterpumps, bore hole check valves, plastic and braided steel pipes e.t.c e.t.c. But the thought of working with a toilet fills me with dread because if I do stuff up, we'd have to move into another room (or temporarily leave the house) and still call a tradesman in, so I might as well cut out the middleman (me) and save myself a lot of potential hassle.

Cheers,

Pikey.
