Oil And Air Filters In Los

Featured Replies

So how often do you guys change your oil and air filters here in Thailand (particularly BKK)?

I change my oil every 5,000 km. People say you can let it go longer, others say every 5k. I don't know which is right, but its so cheap to do it, I figure better safe than sorry.

Air filter once a year. (its too dusty here to let it go longer than that)

Conventional motor oil begins to loose its viscosity after 4000 km. After that the oil literally begins to evaporate inside the engine leaving a varnish that coats all the internals. Going 5000 km isn't hurting anything really but going longer isn't advisable unless you're using one of the synthetics or synthetic blends available.

Changing your air filter between 10000-20000 km depending on severity of usage. Servicing vehicles here is quite easy and very reasonable.

Just say Plian nang man.(change oil)

I change oil every 5000 km, and a new air filter on every other oil change.

There was an interesting thread recently about air filters- click here.

Just follow the manufacturers recommend intervals for oil changes.

Normally 5000km for Diesel engines and 10000km for petrol. Or every 6 months.

For air filter change around once a year if you don't do big distances or every 2nd oil change if you do :o
