Foreigner damages Pattaya Police Truck after girlfriend arrested for drugs

PATTAYA:--A foreign man who refused to offer Police his name or nationality was arrested early on Saturday morning after he was accused of damaging a Pattaya Police Truck during a fit of rage brought on by the arrest of his girlfriend on drugs offences.

Witnesses saw the man first throw a stone at the Police Truck parked on Pattaya Beach Road in front of Central Festival Pattaya Beach and only meters away from the Police Station. During the angry attack on the vehicle, damage was sustained to the driver-side Wing Mirror and driver-side taillight. An aerial fitted to the roof was also bent-in-half.

The girlfriend was arrested on a drug related charge and then he went berko, was he using as well, or is he just not a well adjusted individual?

Why didnt he just swim to Koh Lan? Seems a lot of people that think they can escape into the sea.

But on the other side of the coin, couldnt the reporter just say the pick-up had some minor damage, instead of describing every rock impact. Guess that just makes the story a bit longer and Oh so interesting!

It doesn't matter what is motive is, here in Thailand the number one lesson we must all learn is to keep shut, be polite and if you can walk away (ie not your problem) then walk away. Frustrated Tourist Smashes Police Truck in Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A so far un-named tourist was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, and attacking a Police truck on Beach Road, after a short time visit to his girlfriend, currently in Jail for drug possession.

Blood tests will probably reveal what drove the tall foreigner in his mid 20s to decide that it would be a clever idea to attack the truck, smashing its mirror and attempting to break its windows and tail lights with a rock, before fleeing the scene and walking to the beach where he tried to swim away, before realizing that Hua Hin is a significant distance. He then returned to the beach, as if nothing had happened but was duly arrested by Police Officers who had witnessed the whole incident.

The man seemed to think that he had done nothing wrong and bystanders reported him as happy and smiling as he was taken into custody.

Drivers-side wing mirror, drivers-side tail light, roof aerial bent in half - I shouldn't think that these (especially the aerial being bent in half) were inflicted by 'rock impacts' unless he is a caveman type of Robin Hood character!!!

Happy and smiling as he was taken into custody ....
