bigt116
Anyone got any info on any sukhumvit bars open now or later ? Someone said 'Golden bar' on soi 4 is open, but a long way to go to check :-)
BrianBkyn
As of 3pm nearly all the beer bars on Soi 4 are shut tight. Two seemed to be open but serving no alcohol. GB was one of them. I guess the chances of Nana Plaza being open tonight are slim?
wayned
Just go buy a palstic chair and sit outside of your favorite bar, I'm sure that it will open soooooooon! Edited March 3, 2013 by wayned
lomatopo
My neighbor owns a bar on Soi 4; they've been told they can open at 10:00 PM. YMMV.
theoldgit
Robin Hood on Sukhumvit started selling beer at 6pm with their Happy Hour until 9. Sent from my iPhone using ThaiVisa app
HardenedSoul
To each his own but it's amusing how a mere 30 hour moratorium on alcohol sales shows just how little some people have in their lives. I mean, it's not the fact that these people don't have alcohol at home - they probably do - but take away the pubs and bars for a day or so and they're utterly lost.

I for one don't drink but I'm sure I'm not alone in not understanding the reasoning behind the blanket ban on the sale of alcohol before, during and for hours after these elections.I'm sure that tourists and other visitors to Bangkok find it bemusing that they are not allowed a social drink when visiting Bangkok during elections. The point you make about having enough alcohol at home to get drunk, if that gives people pleasure, shows how ridiculous this rule is.
