I am going to apply to extend my stay, currently for employment, to that of supporting my child. I am doing this as I expect to change jobs sometime this year and would like to be able to hassle free and without the need to mess with leaving the country etc.

I have 400000baht in the bank, but it will not have been seasoned for 60 days. I understand that this is OK.

I am married to the mother, although we were not married at the time of my daughter's birth. As I understand it the day I married the need for court papers was negated.

Here is what I am going to take:-

Passport

Copy of marriage cert.

Copy of house book

Copy of Daughter's birth certificate

Copy of Bank book

Letter from bank.

Daughter.

Passport size photos

Does this look good to go?

Cheers

If you are married they are not likely to allow as they will want you to do this for Thai wife and that is going to require 2 months in account. Let us know if they allow. Most reports we have seen they have not.

Thanks Lopburi. I wasn't aware of that.

The money will have been in the bank for almost 60 days.

I will see what they say.

You can also do it if you have income of 40K baht or more. You can show 3 months of income tax payments as proof of income and showing work permit to prove you are working legally.

Thanks. I am aware of all of the other ways. I was just hoping to do it quickly. I may have a new job out of the area and was hoping to sort it out before hand.

I will be going to Immigration for a 90 day report near to the end of March so I will ask them then.

I will keep you all informed.

Cheers
