Smoking Stinks.

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

There clearly must be some chemical in cigarettes that
effect the intelligence of normal people.

Smoking stinks. It smells like crap. That’s a fact. Forget
about the health issues, it just smells like crap.

Very occasionally I get stuck in an indoor air-conditioned
bar where there are smokers at I really hate it. I have to wash all my clothes,
hair and body because everything stinks. I cannot smell the Bangkok pollution
and although it concerns me that I live here it doesn’t stink like smoke does.
I don’t have to trash everything from a day in Bangkok.

I know so many arrogant smokers that complain about this
issue that never smoke in their own condo or house. They won’t smoke in front
of their kids but they want to smoke in a bar. What about the health and rights
of staff that work in the bars? Do they have any rights to work in a
non-smoking environment? Obviously not in the minds of some people but I think
they have that right. Is it so hard to go out through a closed door in an
air-conditioned bar and have a smoke? Would that kill you to do that and make
others lives better?

Smoke stinks and if the majority of smokers could quit
without pain and suffering from the addiction they would do it in a heartbeat.

I am so disappointed that this law in Thailand is not taken
more seriously and enforced.

I am more disappointed that a vast number of smokers don’t
care enough about others not to smoke in front of them while even
eating in an enclosed bar. Shame on those bar owners for allowing this to
happen.

Smoking stinks. Plain and simple. It smells like crap and it’s
offensive.

I would advise you to avoid smokers and places where there are smokers. That is the answer to your problem with the bad smell. Maybe you should hold your breath if you are in Bangkok. That would cure your problem with air pollution.

Unfortunately, despite laws governing indoor smoking a lot of business owners know that if they say anything to their customers they will lose them and a lot are struggling to make it as it is.

"I have to wash all my clothes, hair and body because everything stinks."

Most people anyhow change their clothes daily and take a shower.

This thread should be moved to the mental health section.

Yes it does stink. The simple solution is to stay home in whatever country you came from. Or, choose a country that does not allow smoking in public places. Those laws have been in place in Canada for at least 10 years that I can think of. DON'T COME TO ASIA IF YOU CAN'T PUT UP WITH SMOKING!!!

We can add smoking to the LONG list of other complaints that people have of Thailand. Leave Thailand for the people who are a little more flexible.

Quite right.

Ever considered following your own advice?

I don't like smoking much either, before both my parents smoked now it is only my mom. Its a dirty habit but as long as they are not bothering anyone with it i'm ok.

I don't like it when im eating in a restaurant but see my mom light up after a meal.. i often tell her to take it elsewhere so she won't bother other diners. But here in Thailand its quite normal to smoke in most places. Its just something i have to put up with. It does not rank high on things that I would want to change.

Smokers should be a bit more considerate but I do think there should be places for smoking and a non smoker should be a bit flexible too.

Take it easy on Rene. She already has one strike against her, coming from Vancouver Island.

My neighbours are burning their fields at this time, come and sit on my front door step, you will smell like a smoked sausage in about 30 seconds.

So it wasn't just wanton vandalism then?

This thread should be moved to the mental health section.

Or to the food section.

If smoke smells like crap there's obviously something wrong with your diet.

Singapore is nice this time of year.

Unless someone is smoking err.

But to be fair these cretins do pay more taxes and die off early

A good cigar or pipe tobacco smells great. More cigarette smokers should switch. Don't see why they smoke cigarettes when there's real tobacco to be had.

:)

Not sure if it counts quite so much in Thailand where cigarettes are cheap.

A few years ago, Thailand enacted a law to ban smoking from public schools and universities. No change. A few professors and uni students have continued to smoke right in front of our office and classroom doors, throwing their butts all over the ground. Everyday coming/going to/from work, one has to trudge through the trash heap of cigarette butts and wave away the clouds of smoke which also tend to waft into the buildings every time the door opens.

Then I go home and nearby construction workers daily throw their butts into my nearby garden and patio. Every day I do the "clean-up" detail right in front of them, and by their chuckles, I'm sure its great visual sport for them.

Sorry, but MOST smokers are thoughtless, rude cretins when it somes to respecting the rights of people and property. They not only trash their own bodies, but the environment and the health of everyone around them.

Yes, one should consider before they come to Asia, which is still back in the 1950's and 60's of more developed countries, when it comes to smoking awareness. I put up and shut up but only because I have the catharsis of Thai Visa. wink.png

Which is stupid because smokers are a minority. Non smokers just avoid them. I know I do and so do my friends.

Actually smoking rocks, especially the type with a hottie at the other end.

I can't keep my pipe lit and even the smokers complain about my cigars.

here they burn trash and ash is flying around. Often they burn a lot plastic with it.

I would invite 10 heavy smoker into my house in exchange if I could.

I would rather smell second hand cigarette smoke.

Than second hand,Body odour.

Hope the OP never farts, could push him//her over the edge. smile.png

We could get into a tussle right here about the personal hygiene habits of Frenchmen, Indians, Americans and Thais, but we shan't go there.... whistling.gif
