hi,

it's Wednesday afternoon and I've just arrived in Savannakhet.

Booked into Nong Soda hotel down the road from the Thai embassy.

I had planned to apply for a visa tomorrow and pick it up Friday and sleep in Mukdahan Saturday night because I get the Nok Air bus to the airport at 6.30 Sunday morning.

Only to find that Friday is a bank holiday.I went down to the embassy and met a guy that does photocopying and passport photos in a shop across the road.

I asked him was there a service that could get a same day visa,he said that if I come back tomorrow

he will see if his friend is in the embassy. If he is he will do it if not then he can't.I never asked about

the price.

The only other info I have is that there is a travel agency near the airport.I've never been here before.

Does any body have any ideas of what I should do.Get a same day visa or change my flight, how and where

Sorry my English has gone to pot......yes..........the consulate.

If it's 2000bht then I must ask myself is it cheaper,or the same price,to change my ticket.

Can I do that from Laos.

Right,

I handed in my passport today and don;t get it back till fryday.

I tried to change the flight on the Nok air website but it said that I couldn't because of the ticket class.

I got a travel agent to phone them and he couldn't get through.

Also when I arrived from Sakon Nakon by the nok air bus the driver couldn't speak English so I

couldn't ask him where the pick up point for the return flight was.

So I have two questions-1 where is the Nok Air pick up point in Mukdahan,and-

2-What happens if I turn up there a day late,do I have to pay in full again.

Remarks:

The drop-off location in Mukdahan will be first at Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge #2 follows by at PTM office (approx. 1/2km. from the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge #2 on Highway 212). PTM office is also the place where coach departs for Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom airports

PTM office: PTM Petroleum Station, Highway 212, Bang Sai Yai, Mukdahan . click_orange.gif
