Hey Guys - hope u good :)

my visa based on marriage expires on 18/06 this year..... my flight home is in august, and we think we will go to UK for a reasonable period (assuming the wife gets her UK marriage visa (she has had tourist already, so we are hopefull))

i am presuming i have to renew my visa on 18/06 or before.....

but i have been thinking, rather than send money over from the UK at today's unfavourable exchange rates, can i eat into the money that i had to show immigration to acquire the visa (ie the 400k, which i have yet to touch) and on the 18/06 simply go down to immigration and pay 1900B and get a two / three month extension?

would i be able to do this? (i have only had the one married visa, so have never been down to renew / extend)

and can i still do it if the 400k has been partly spent??

The money must have been in the bank for 2-3 months without going below that amount.

You can apply for a 60 day extension to 'visit' your wife. That would either give you time to get the money seasoned, or give you time until you leave Thailand in August. This is not extending the visa you say you currently have.

thanks guys - wai.gif i will go to immigration and get my 60 days a little before the 18/06 visa end date

am i right in thinking i can only do this one time per visa (just incase we need to stay in thailand longer for some reason)??

also guys, when we decide to return to thailand (in a year or so i would guess), should i enter on a tourist visa and then go to immigration and apply for a marriage visa again, or should we take all the documents with us, and apply from the UK at Hull?

The 60 day extension is only given once per entry into Thailand.

Much easier to apply for a non-O visa in Hull, you can apply by mail. Check their website for the procedure, form and needed documents.
