ThailandInvestmentGuide
Yes it is possible. I assume you are in Thailand now, in which case you can choose your broker and visit their office to sign the necessary papers to get started. Try a Thaivisa forum search on "stockbroker", "sharebroker" etc and you'll probably find some earlier threads where ppl recommend and discuss their preferred broker/s. You can then use google to locate brokers web sites and obtain further info. Edited March 9, 2013 by ThailandInvestmentGuide
fletchsmile
Yes it's possible, I use KGI and am happy with them. Bangkok Bank have a related company that also do. The topic comes up from time to time, so a search of my username plus KGI gives the following among others that may be of use: http://www.thaivisa....d-observations/http://www.thaivisa....k-traders-here/http://www.thaivisa....i-stock-market/http://www.thaivisa....s-who-is-lower/http://www.thaivisa....ividend-stocks/http://www.thaivisa....nd/page__st__75 Also the SET website has some useful general info: http://www.set.or.th/en/products/equities/equities_p1.html Fletch Edited March 9, 2013 by fletchsmile
saakura
I use Maybank Kim Eng last 5 yrs. Just google and get the application form from their website. Simple procedure and they give excellent service. Btw, it is a cash trading account where you have to first top up your account with cash prior to buying a stock. yoshiwara
http://baby.boom.com.hk/en/ covers SET.
jimmybkk
http://baby.boom.com.hk/en/ covers SET. True, but I'd suggest the OP has a good look at their commissions for SET trades and compares with local online brokers before going with Boom. ExpatJ
Thanks everybody for advise. Great forum. Now where to find recommendation about tops and flops and any websites for charts. I use bloomberg.com -that has charts for thai stocks. I began documenting my investments in Thai stocks in August 2011- checked the other day to see that since then, my investment pot have increased 35%, so very pleased with that. If you are charting i assume you are looking for short term buying opportunities but these are limited right now since all the good stocks are over bought. ExpatJ
Set is at a 19 year high, market correction is due IMHOIn this case, i am going out on a limb and disagreeing with you. I think enough of the key economic fundamentals globally are improving (esp China, US employment, Portuguese upgrade etc) and there is still enough money printing going on globally (Japans new BoJ chief heavily hinting more) for the rally in stocks to continue for some time. Plus those mom and pop investors who have sat on the sidelines since the crash in 2008 and now streaming back into the stock markets too.
