Hello

I have a o visa based on marriage which is due to run out in 90 days.I do not want to bring 400k to thai because of the bad exchange rate at the moment.

Can i send my passport and documents to the thai embassy in hull for a new 1 year multi-entry visa.

Thanks for any replies

On a similar note, my extension based on marriage is due for renewal in 2 weeks. Due to poss change in circumstances, I may not need 12 months. Can I get a short extension from my usual immigration office? Not a marriage extension, just one to tide me over pending possible departure from Thailand. Thanks

Applying in KL or Savanakhet requires you to go in person and apply in the morning and collect the next day in the afternoon.

KL wants to see a bank account with the equivalent of 100,000 Baht in it.

Differing reports from Savanakhet ranging from zero to a bank account with some money in it.

Have a look at Sponsor Savan Vegas on this page. They will apply for you while you stay in their Hotel/Casino.

Immigration will give a 60 days extension to you. 1,900 Baht. ^^^^^

Thanks so much. Appreciated. If by chance I took out the 60 days then found I did need to renew the marriage extension, would that still be possible?

Be aware the 60 day extension will be to visit Thai wife so she will have to be with you when you apply. If that is not an option only 7 days would be available as pack out time for disapproved extension so a border run for 15 days might be better.

For the money you are spending to go out of the country, you can pay an attorney here and accomplish nearly anything.

Attorneys in Bangkok do this readily. I don't know about your province. If you want an attorney then pm me.

I am about to do this myself for the second time (renewal) and it's a breeze.

You do not need any expensive help.

Just do the trip and get a visa like everyone else.

At least you will know it is legal.

It costs less for me to get an attorney than it does to fly out of the country, to say, Malaysia.

If you are caught doing this it can lead to deportation and/or jail time.

There have been many caught when they tried to use a visa issued while they were in Thailand.

Caught doing what? I use the same immigration officer that you do. The same office. The same everything.

So you are applying for Extensions of stay from Immigration.

The OP has already said that he does not financially qualify for this.

You are missing the whole point.

"You are missing the whole point."

The point being that the person you use is the same, but that the process you use is illegal?

If not illegal, can you explain it to those of us who aren't getting it?

Pasted docs checklist from Savan Vegas:
