I am very young and my thai girlfriend is a student, from a poor family. She ended up getting a 10 year tourist visa to the USA. We explained to them that I planned to live in Thailand, and that we would marry in Thailand and had no intentions of ever living in the USA.

When it was time for everyone to pick up their passports, it seemed as though no one was being disappointed. I sat and watched as one after another young girl walked up and smiled when they looked inside of their passport, whether they were applying for student or tourist visas I do not know.

But Stickmans "expert" who claims 99.9% will be denied, might want to check his facts, unless my gf is that lucky 1/1000th.

The process seemed very straight foward, and even the dreaded interview was just a few standard questions. It honestly seemed that if you followed all the steps, and spoke good english and presented yhourself clearly, then you would not have a problem.

i will likely get flamed for this but stickman just keeps writing the same boring cliches over and over again. how many stickman weeklys are correlated with the bar scene? the guy should have let it go along time ago.

Stickman is providing entertainment, nothing more nothing less - one man's view of thailand. :o

Quite agree. Whilst some people do find him entertaining, I doubt anyone takes him seriously.

Stickman did not write the views on the USA embassy, it was an interview, if you read the submissions there are posts from people (claiming) to be embassy staff giving another opinion. Nobody, least of all stick claims the views of those interviewed are 100% accurate.

Are you complaining there is not enough about the bar scene? some think there is too much, some that it's not enough, some idiots even call the guy a hypocrite because he no longer indulges in the scene, barr.

Sticks site on the whole is one of the most informative and entertaining about thailand, but that's just my opinion.

He's filled the gap left by Trink. Another "love him, or, hate him" kinda guy.
