cscraig
After renting several contenders, I've just ordered a new cb500x... Any recommendations for a competent aftermarket shop in Chaing Mai that can supply & install: - engine & tank guard bars? - radiator guard? - side and top cases/racks Anything else you would do (or check??) first up if you had it to do all over again?

Well change the exhaust.. try a slip on.. Find a good tank bag.... Just a suggestion it might be easier to have the shop do it.. Are you planning do it in the dirt? Cheers.. On the pegs.. I guess I'm not the first)

Popular Post Thai Chi
^^^^ Good color choice Same here after finding out that the Himalayan pearl White CB500F front guard fitted straight on to the X. A very cheap mod that (IMO) makes the bike look a whole lot better.

ardokano
The bikes were actually developed for Europe and it's new licencing laws. Thailand sales or Kawasaki aren't a factor in the design of the bike.So you are saying that it's a coincidence that the faired CBR500R, the naked CBR500F and the "adventure" CB500X are representing the same style as the faired Ninja650R, the naked En6R and the "adventure" Versys?Kawa it 3 different bike. Honda its same bike;) I guess next generation sell as set and you bild your vike just get another logo(cb,cbr or cbx)

In my case a higher windscreen (Givi) fixed the buffering I experienced on the stock screen. Assuming you have the 2016 model, the screen has been redesigned to address the buffering problems. I have read that the 2016 screen is a vast improvement. Try it on both high and low settings to get it where it suits you best. You may also have to space it out at the bottom to get the optimal position.
Popular Post Lucky33
I don't have a CB500X but I did have a CB500F for about a year and then I traded up to a CB650F so I thought I would throw in a word or two since the bikes are so similar. I loved my CB500 and with a set of Hepco-Becker panniers I used it as a touring bike. It was great out on the road and once I reached my destination and took off the panniers it was almost as easy to get around on in town as a scooter with it being so narrow and light. Like most I wanted a little more power so I traded up to a CB650F which did have twice the power. After having the CB650 for almost a year looking back I would just keep the CB500. Reasons being the CB500 is easier to get around in city traffic and it's smoother even though the CB650 is four cylinders, IMO the 650 gets buzzy at cruising speeds of 100 kph and above. The plus for the 650 are more power which is usually nice and it's slightly more comfortable on long rides. Still if I had it to do over again I would keep the 500.

Briggsy
Big Wing Pattaya are currently out of chains (but they have sprockets) for the 500. Any idea where I can source one? They say they have them on order. I know from experience this sometimes takes a long time. Edited December 13, 2017 by Briggsy

Just give them the chain number - 520, 530 ... and the links number
