It is always nice to have additional evidence that the motorcyclist you've just squashed turned right across your bows before you flattened him (of course it cuts both ways if you were at fault). Maybe you will wish you had one, one day, when your vehicle collides with a motorbike and every Thai witness says it was the Farangs fault (naturally), when in fact it was the Thai that puled out in front of you without looking. No it's because of the super-high corruption there with traffic police... They are not compulsory but they did catch that meteor hitting the ground recently from all angles.
