Hi guys, I have a 12 month multi entry visa and I have been going back to Australia every 3 months(good reason to vist my family) but it is getting too much to keep doing it. Is a border run my only other alternative every 90 days or do I have other options, my wife is telling me I can just go to the local immigration office but I am not sure(we live in Surat, border is only 3 hours away)). My visa expires later this year and instead of going back to Australia I might do the run to Laos, will work out cheaper than going back to Australia to do it, only thing is I dont have to show any bank accounts in Australia to get the type O visa.

I have looked through these pages but cant find anything on this query.

Thanks

To keep the relative freedom of the non-O visa then border runs (or overseas visits) are the only option.

Arranging a marriage extension may the best way forward for you if you can evidence the funds.

If your wife is Thai, you can apply for a one year extension of stay, financial requirements are 40,000 per month income, or 400,000 in a bank account. If you can't, or do not want to do that, consider applying for a one year, multi-entry "O" Visa at Savanakhet, Laos and continue 90 day border crossings. They have not been requesting financial proof in the reports I have read, and KL, Malaysia only requires 100K in a bank account.

You can not visit immigration for new 90 day stay if that is your question - you must exit country and return - but you could get 60 day extension of stay for 1,900 baht on any entry.
