Reasons of change
Best thing that happened to the cabs in Pattaya As an X cabby from Perth it annoyed me how they would refuse to use the meter and just make up prices, quite often 300 or 400 thb to go a km. So i avoided them like the plague. -

Cha-Am Beach Sees Rare ‘Fish Crowding’ Phenomenon as Locals Gather Seafood
On October 7, residents and tourists flocked to Cha-Am Beach in Phetchaburi Province to catch various sea creatures washed ashore due to a phenomenon known locally as "nuea bia," or “crowding water.” Armed with nets and baskets, they collected blackfin seabass, cuttlefish, shrimp, and blue crabs, which had surfaced and were stranded along the beach. This bounty offered locals and visitors a rare opportunity to gather fresh seafood for meals. The event attracted numerous people to the Cha-Am Beach viewpoint area, where the phenomenon was most visible. "Nuea bia" occurs when a large influx of freshwater flows into the sea along the coastline, causing oxygen levels in the seawater to drop. As a result, marine life, including seabass and other sea creatures, rises to the surface in search of oxygen. Witnesses reported that among the various sea creatures, the blackfin seabass was notably abundant. The influx of marine life provided a unique experience for visitors, who were eager to take advantage of the natural event. Authorities have noted that while “nuea bia” can be a temporary boon for locals, it can also indicate disruptions in the marine ecosystem. As locals continue to gather seafood, officials advise them to observe responsible harvesting practices to avoid overfishing and to protect the area’s biodiversity. Man Found Burned with Truck on Southern Seaboard Road, Krabi
Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man whose body was discovered burned alongside a pickup truck on Southern Seaboard Road. The victim has been identified as a 70-year-old man from Bangkok, a business partner in a well-known resort located in Trang Province. The tragic incident, which occurred on the evening of October 6, has left investigators working to determine the full circumstances behind his death. The burned vehicle, a half-cab pickup truck with license plate from Trang, was found completely destroyed by fire in the median of the Southern Seaboard Road, Moo 1, Ban Klang Subdistrict, Ao Luek District, Krabi. Nearby, the charred remains of the man were discovered, initially making identification impossible. Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the vehicle was registered to a resort in Trang Province. Investigators are currently looking into the case, but it remains unclear if foul play is involved, as no signs of physical assault or injury were found on the body. On the morning of October 7, 2024, a team led by Pol. Col. Pitsanu Puangprom, Deputy Commander of Region 8, and Pol. Col. Weerayut Sittiratnakul, Ao Luek Police Station Chief, returned to the scene for a more thorough investigation. Evidence collected, including testimonies from witnesses, led authorities to identify the victim as Mr. Wigr, a 70-year-old resident of Bangkok and a partner in a resort located in Koh Libong, Trang Province. According to Pol. Col. Pitsanu, the investigation suggests that the victim may have been suffering from severe emotional distress. The current theory is that he may have started a fire inside the vehicle, possibly attempting to end his life. However, as the fire intensified, it is believed that he exited the vehicle in a panic but ultimately collapsed and died near the truck. While this is the leading theory, police are still awaiting the results of a full autopsy from the hospital. Investigators are also preparing to interview the victim’s wife, who is expected to provide more information. A local resident who was riding a motorcycle behind the victim’s vehicle reported seeing him turn into an oil palm plantation shortly before the truck was engulfed in flames. As the investigation continues, police are working to piece together the events leading up to the fire and whether any other factors were involved in the victim’s death. "‘Keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down’ – those were the words of Nato’s first Secretary General, Lord Ismay, when explaining the aims behind the new military alliance (as it was then). Simple rhetoric it may well be, but Ismay’s words seem to be of haunting significance in the world we inhabit more than half a century later. Patong - The Wake
I am sorry but I just re-read @xylophone post twice again and in no sentence he mentions that the hospital or doctor said he had Covid...!? Just that they took blood test and chest x-ray...! And he had very bad flu symptoms and condition. Please read again and copy/paste the section here for me to see where I missed it... No conspiracy it's just that Covid diagnosis needs a particular test to confirm it, that's all. -

How to deal with a conflict with monkeys?
in places where there's monkey problem like temple, the parking attendant carry slingshot, and the act of just drawing them in shooting motion towards the problem monkey is enough, no need to actually shoot anything, maybe the odd stone every once in a while -
