March 14, 200620 yr Hi All, Sorry to start a new topic but when I search on keywords like driver license or renewal no helpfull results are showing. My question is: where I have to go for renewal of my driver license? By the way today a friend (Thai) went with me and we ask many taxi drivers where to do but ended up driving around BKK for 3 hours without finding the correct place. I live in Bangkorleam area. Thanks for your help. Kind regards, Alex Edited March 14, 200620 yr by AlexLah
March 14, 200620 yr If its a Thai drivers license then you just need to go back to the transport office after it expires and they will give you a shiney new (pink) 5 year one. Just take along copies of your passport/workpermit and the fee If you do what i did, and go the day before your license expires they will only give you a 1 year one

March 15, 200620 yr I got my 5 years extention a couple of weeks ago in Khon Kaen - 550 baht. I was a bit worried as it was 4 months overdue - but no problem. I have been to the one in Phrakonong, Bangkok - around Sukhumvit 91, In think. There is also one, maybe the main one at Mo Chit.
March 15, 200620 yr To renew ours we needed a letter from the British embassy. 2000 baht EACH. When we got to the driving licence centre, our licences had four days to run so they gave us a one year one. We went back 3 weeks later and the woman made it run for 6 years Don't forget your medical form too. We got a medical done and we weren't even present Still. T>I>T!
March 15, 200620 yr I had to show my work permit, but no medical on the renewal. I used to get my medicals done in Bangkok without actually seeing the doctor. There is a good place at Victory Monument that does them for 30 baht.
