Why is it acceptable for the USA to test ICBM's, but not NK ??

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/04/07/north-korea-propoganda-victory-icbm_n_3031104.html?utm_hp_ref=uk

The US military has cancelled a planned test of a Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) over fears of escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula.

The test, which was due to take place next week from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, has been delayed for a month following a series of increasingly bellicose threats from Pyongyang.

According to a US official, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel decided to cancel the test on Friday fearing that a launch in the current political climate may risk escalating tensions further, a move that is likely to be used as a propaganda victory by Kim Jong-un.

Because sometimes life just isn't fair.

Life isn't meant to be fair, life and the world is what it is.

But I only ever hear Westerners complaining about life not being fair. I never hear it from Asians

Westerns have lofty aspirations and access to a great quality of life so maybe they do complain if they fall short. I dunno. Perhaps in some Asia countries everyone falls short of what would be ideal so less than ideal is acceptable.

Actually, your comment was pretty lame in that US and not NK is allowed to have nuclear weapons. Not my rule and perhaps this is just an example of you and NK whining about life not being fair.

Westerners are happy when they can do what they want. Asians are happy when they are told what to do.

It would be quite easy to relieve tensions in the area,if the USA ceased military exercises in SK,relieved some of the sanctions strangling the N.Koreans and give this young, man Kim Jong Un time to think and reassess.

Number one he is a young man, with tremendous responsibility that he needs time to adjust to.

As we all know when young we don't always make the wisest of decisions.

What would be the point of destroying,NK and creating disharmony with all the nations involved.

You're trying to apply logic to an illogical person.

The NK's are like bullys, They use Nukes to extort concessions our of the SKs and the US.

With the bully's i know, you give in to the bullys and they own you, and they get more brazen.

one last thought

If Fidel tells you that you're being a hothead, you might just want to take a quick look in the mirror!whistling.gif

I agree jamhar. He doesn't need time to reassess. He needs a beating.

Let's see - one president already sent 20B to NK saying oh please please please don't build that nuke - any bets on what program the 20B got invested in? Insanity....

At the end of the day it is only posturing.

Unless missiles are actually launched, there is no problem.

But NK has certainly got everyone's attention.

Surely the older wiser leaders of western countries, could of held council, with Kim Jong Un,shortly after he took up office.

Maybe he is so far backed into a corner by sanctions, against his country, and reared on missinformation, about the west,

That he feels a show of strength is his only option.

It begs the question what would you do in his shoes at his age?

It's a grossly misguided show of strength.

If I was in his shoes, at his age, I'd be listening to advisers, allies (if there are any left), and asking myself, "Do I want to live to see next week?" If the answer is "Yes", I'd shut my mouth............and keep it shut.

That's what every Empire throughout history thought as well. But they all failed and fell. Maybe the USA is "different"

there are so many war mongers on this forum, mostly Americans.

It is a shame that America causes so many wars and never learns from its mistakes. Castro is right in what he says and there are many who share his sentiments.

And you're planning to move to Havana when???

And I thought I have seen it all! Your emotional plea sounds like an ostrich trying to talk with his head buried in sand.

Just listen to what you are saying: "...Leave him alone, do not annoy him, he is still a little boy playing with tin soldiers and nuke toys, give him time to mature, and leave his nation where it is - in harmony and bliss, do not provoke him because he is stupid and young and if he does a bad thing - it will be responsibility of the grown-up people around the world..."

I think this nut has two friends in the whole big world: Fidel and Hedghog. Now I will sleep peacefully.

Oh, yes, I think it would have been a good idea to buy you a one way ticket to NK and let you live there in harmony until Great Kim Jong Un finishes growing, thinking and reassessing. I am sure they have special camps for likes of you.giggle.gif

And if Kim Jon-gun got about to reform his economy instead of waving nukes around in the air, the world of nations might have someone in power in Pyongyang we could reasonably interact with.

"Why North Korea Isn’t Interested in Economic Reform"

http://blog.keia.org/2013/04/why-north-korea-isnt-interested-in-economic-reform/

N Korea isn't interested in economic reforms for the same reasons Fidel Castro has spent the past 50+ years wholly disinterested in same.
