Hello boys & girlswai2.gif

I'm ready for a change and so is the teelakbiggrin.png

Just thinking about taking my misses & my 19 month old daughter somewhere different for a change

A break away from Thailand, we've been overdosing(bored) on Bangkok, Pattaya & Hua Hin recently and are trying to get a plan!

Been thinking about flying direct ThaiAirways(16,500baht) over to Denpasar, Bali and heading up to Legian or Nosa Dua?

Can anyone recommend a nice family friendly hotel with a kids club near the beach?

Or Villa?

Somewhere between 3000 baht and max 6000 baht a night for a week or so in May?

Any advise would be more than welcome THANKSthumbsup2.gif

Oh and one last important question pleaseermm.gif

My daughter has a British Passport, would it be better for her to get a Thai Passport before we go so that when she arrives back in Thailand she can arrive on her Thai one rather than getting 30 day visa exemption stamp on her British???

thanx.gifthumbsup.gif

We stayed at Seminyak, nice area. Villas easy to find, we did not bother with hotels and kids club stuff, but plenty about.

We flew airasia direct and with good times and cheaper quite a bit than Thai.

As for passport, always best to get the Thai one if convenient, but if not dont bother as sure other ops will pop up to get it. My son does not have one and overstay is not an issue for the young.....but is best to get.

Hi

Not gonna fly AirAsia as I really prefer ThaiAirways!

On-line check in, food&drink included & I'll book front row seats!

I've had a couple of recommendations off Ozzy friends but unfortunately those were full!

I didn't really fancy Kuta but

Bali Dynasty resort in South Kuta

Sounds an amazing place for kids, just been reading reports on Agoda but there's always one that likes to complain about something silly, ha

Prices $161 or $180 so defo in my price range

Anyone stayed there?

Not too busy with loud drunks?

Legian Beach Hotel is coming up at

A$99 for a superior room 3 storey

Or

Deluxe Garden Bungalow A$123

Prices is good & location is good

Has babysitting&kids pool, but not seeing kids club!

Does anyone know how much for a taxi from airport to Legian?

Cheers

Is it best my daughter leaves on a Thai & returns on her Thai but enters Indonesia on her UK? Or best still on her Thai?

Thanks

If she has a Thai, then enter Indo on the Thai one as they get the Asean deal and no visa fee required.

I handed over my daughters Oz visa and the nice chap said use the Thai one and go get a refund for the visa...which we did.

Thanks, that's great news!

We have 5 nights in Bangkok when Songkran finishes so we'll do the Thai Passport Application then.

Good to know we'll save on 2 $25 entry fees and 2 Indonesian exit fees

Did you get them both holiday insurance ? If so, who with and how much?I have my own annual one already!

If your wife and daughter present their Thai passports - you will save the visa fee on arrival. However

If your wife and daughter enter Indonesia on Thai passports they will indeed save the visa fee on arrival; however, all three of you will still pay the RP 150,000 (THB 500) departure tax - Thai passport holders are not exempt from this fee.

Mrs Chiang Mai works for the Chedi Hotel which owns the Legian, (see link below) I don't know how much it costs because we stayed for free but if you can get it at anything like a decent price, take it, it's fabulous - they also have a hotel in Ubud which is also just superb..

We have 90 days travel insurance incorporated into our normal health insurance, so we did not need extra......however.....Bali hospiatls and serv ice suck big ones and will be expensive.

I had to take my daughter there and they wanted to admit her for a sore tummy...all that bullshit and tests here and there....I refused and just got something for a sore tummy, gas, constipation etc and she was fine after couple days.

She got it again later, we were there for 3 weeks and think she did not like the food so much...and this time tried a couple of different hospitals, one recommended I nearly walked out of because they did not have any drinking water..in the whole place they could not find her any water.

So be prepared.

The biggest and best so called international hospital was the ripoff one wanting admit and all of that......and traffic getting there was horrendous due to road works at a major intersection that is not planned to finish for some time yet.

Don't fly Air Asia..... It will cost you more than Thai in the long run with all the ++++++++ and ++++++

What a joke!!

Returned from Bali yesterday --- our family of 4 each paid less than 6,000 Bt. return including two of the "++++++++" (??) mentioned. The flight was excellent.

It always amazes me that some travelers have such difficulty in declining any of the few extras offered!!

Bali is awesome by the way.....much better than los.

As for airasia....yeah,,,just say no to any of the crap you dont want or need.....dont forget you pay for it with TA regardless.

Only bitch about AA was no entertainment systems, with kids....a bit of a drag.

make sure u take her to the water park and if u make it up to Lovina area, let me know as i have part interest in a resort there.

My daughter used to love Bali but we never spent much time in the south as to dam crowded and worse now,

Get her a thai passport an enter and arrive on it to Thailand and Bali

Check out the deals on Agoda

and trip advisor for kid friendly places

Howdy boys & girls :-D

I know its been a while but been back at work the last couple of weeks & doing 7/12's with weak internet reception on an evening!

Anyway our 7 night holiday is booked for Bali

Padma Bali in Legian its a little over budget at 7500 baht a night but it's our lasses 1st time oversea's so its a little treat for her & our daughter.

Also we've got our daughter her Thai passport with diddums and phuketrichards advise.

Booked with ThaiAirways around 16,000 baht for adult plus 25% for our daughter.

So all good

Thanks all for your inputs

Can anyone recommend restaurants or bars near there or places to take my girls??

Have a good day ;-)

This will be short because it wasn't very sweet!!

The hotel was 5* and lived up to it!
Room, gardens, pools, ponds, staff all excellent!
I'd probably just say wrong location tho, but i'd probably say wrong country, ha!

We missed good restaurants & street stall food,
but what spoiled our trip unfortunately was it rained everyday from around 3pm onwards
not good with 20 month old baby...Oh well at least we tried!!!
