I spent the morning with my gik.

I was in the shower and she entered the bathroom to join me.

On the other side of the shower screen I heard her rummaging around at the wash basin.

She then jumped in the shower with me.

Her hair was pinched up in a neat little bun and held in place with MY TOOTHBRUSH.

Quirky...unexpected...adorable...and very cute...

I have dated a good share of girls over the years...most of them from the west...but I find that Thai girls so often put a smile on my face with the adorable things they do.

This is not another...reasons why I love my Thai wife/gf thread. That topic has been done to death.

But rather it is an invitation for members to post about any quirky little things that their partner did that warmed your heart and made you happy your girl is Thai.

I enjoy it,when my wife slaps me in the head, for being silly/sarcastic/a jerk. Why? Maybe it's because she did it the 1st time we met, and whilst shocked, i was told it was Thai style. It's continued many years on, and after seeing Thai acting, i now just accept it.

If it was a western woman, it would probably be a right hook!

I get accused of cheating all the time..

There's a difference between cheating and being accused of cheating. Why cheat? If you're unhappy, leave! If she's not satisfying your needs, leave! Cheating will only hurt her more in the long run. It's not big and it's not clever; more so if the girl you're cheating with is doing it solely for monetary purposes!

Why did you deem it necessary to let us know that you are an adulterer? It did not have anything to do with the anecdote.

Women the world over have been using toothbrushes etc to tie up their hair for years. Its not some out of this world phenomena. I wouldn't disrespect my bf though by using his...or disrespect him by having a gik for that matter either. ..or hit him around the head......

I always understood a Gik to refer to a no-exclusive GF or friend with benefits sort of arrangement. A bit on the side if your married is refered to as a mia noi.

Obviously some posters here have a differant understanding of the term Gik and waste no time in proselytizing, moralizing and generally taking what they believe to be the high road.

I believe you that it's not an exclusively Thai thing but I'm surprised you think that women the world over are disrespecting their male partners by doing it - or are you being culturally sensitive?

One needn't have a bf/GF to have a Gik but certainly if one did, that wold be disrespectful.

Slapping on the head is in most contexts - certainly at first acquaintance - disrespectful, I agree.
