How To Get A 2Nd Uk Passport From Uk Embassy ?

Featured Replies

I travel around with work, and only have a few pages left on my passport. How easy is it to get a second UK passport from the British Embassy in Bangkok ? My company has written me a supporting letter.

Or should I just get a renewal? If I get a renewal, do they let you keep your old one ?

Any information or previous experience appreciated

I sounds to me that you have scheme in place.

You can only have one UK passport unless you are a journalist working in the Middle East.

I suspect you have plans to circumvect the UK Border Agency's rules?

You really are becoming a person who gives wrong and dangerous advice, yet you just carry on without any apology or recognition of this.

You do not have to be " a journalist working in the middle east" to obtain a second UK passport. There are many reasons, and many professions, that allow you to obtain one. If you can provide a reasonable explanation why you need a second passport, eg your first passport is often with Embassies to obtain visas but you need to travel, then a second passport will be issued. You will need, as the OP says, a letter from your employer, or similar evidence, in order to get a second passport.

You won't get it from the embassy in Bangkok, you will apply to Hong Kong and it will be issued from the UK. If you simply renew your old passport you don't physically have to send it with the application, so yes, you do keep it, but the moment they get the renewal application it will be cancelled so you won't be able to travel on it for the 3 weeks it takes to get the new one.

Totally agree with your statement

"You really are becoming a person who gives wrong and dangerous advice, yet you just carry on without any apology or recognition of this."
