Never been asked for a plane ticket, ever!!

Only time I was asked for a return flight ticket was at that thing they call an airport near london with 5 terminals. The check in female asked , and when I pointed out there was a visa in my passport she never responded.Always good to see BritishtAirways struggling.

Have never been asked to show any flight info in the many extensions I have done

Per above answers, for a regular extension of a tourist visa no ticket out is needed.
