Car Fridges/esky

Featured Replies

I'm looking to buy a decent size esky for a forthcoming series of long road trips, the type that has a 12V supply (a few pictured below to give an idea). I sent a mail off to ARB who apparently have a place in Rayong but no reply so far, so thought I'd ask here if anyone had one, or any recommendations where to buy, which one etc. I will be using it mostly for beer, although the wife may try and sneak some seafood and wotnot in there on occasion.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I recommend using a normal picknik box. It will keep your stuff cold for at least 24 hours with the cooling power of two bags of ice cubes from 7-11 or Family Mart or whereever. The pictured box has been riding thousands of kilometers with me - providing good services. Oh, and don't forget to open the bags and spill the ice cubes between your bottles for maximum efficiency.

Have to agree with hkt83100 - ice is cheap and plentiful, as are insulated boxes to put it in. No electricity required, no generated heat to dissipate, and practically nothing to break :)

Not forgetting of course the 'new" restriction on anyone in a vehicle consuming alcohol! So keep it in the trunk.biggrin.png
