7-Eleven Introduces Convenient PromptPay QR Code Payments Nationwide
You are not in Thailand are you? Call the banks??? You will need to go into the bank where you opened the account (not any bank branch) and try to get them to stop/cancel your accounts - and good luck with that, even if you get there quickly. By the way, banking rules in Thailand are 99% in favour of the bank - you will not get any money back 99% of the time. If you are scammed because you clicked on a malicious QR code (or someone else did using your phone) or any other myriad of possible thefts that can be made with a phone that has banking enabled, it is not much use being notified that all/most of your funds have been withdrawn. Take it as given - they are insecure. The best solution in your situation, that I can think of, is to set up a separate bank account and impose a daily limit of 5000 baht withdrawals in a day, and using a computer transfer over to that account funds as and when needed (keeping below say 10K Baht). Then use that for account for payments with the phone. That limits the danger to a small amount in a secondary account. Especially important if you are using the same main account on your phone and you use that for immigration extensions/renewals. -

Thailand’s Business Ease Ranking Plummets in Asia-Pacific: Survey
What else do you expect with the political chaos, ever changing laws and rules on how to do anything. The left foot never knows what the right foot is doing because they are only focused on their own bubble, oblivious to all that is happening around them. -

Adopting a Pet in Bangkok
There are only 2 types of good dogs, small ones and dead ones. The rest are stinking, drooling, flea bitten bags of slobber and fur only interested in food. They do not love you, and if you think they are part of a family it must be a dysfunctional one -

Just an employment contract, no salary statements were requested? So the money in the bank you've showed could have come from other sources.. Which Embassy/Consulate did you use to submit your application? Thank you! -

Pattaya Cracks Down on Illegal Immigrants to Protect World-Class Tourist Image
Perhaps English isn't your best language, although your comment is written well enough, your reading comprehension appears to be severely lacking, if you indeed read the article at all. The very beginning of the article refutes your claims in spades. "Crackdowns" of this sort are for protection and they specified what exactly they want to protect! "Pattaya authorities detained several illegal immigrant beggars on Thursday to protect the city’s world-class tourism image. At 6:00 PM on September 26th, Chonburi Immigration, Pattaya City officials, and the Chonburi Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office, jointly launched a crackdown on illegal immigrants begging in Pattaya. The authorities said the beggars were causing damage to the image of the city, which is a world-class tourist destination." Of course there are some very nice places within Pattaya city limits, but with the amount of filth (in many ways) there, I understand why my (Thai) friends, who own properties there, have moved away from the city they lived in for many years. It has become much less than desirable. With soooooo many nicer places to visit, I have no idea why tourists want to go there, other than the ones who enjoy that sort of sleazy environment. -

Australian Aged Pension
Welcome back NOT. You just inspired me, as you did on Articles 18 & 19 where you still haven't admitted your wrong.....LOL, not that I have ever expected you to understand the meaning of the word, YOUR WRONG. So, I will take it upon myself to email an insurance company in Australia and ask them the question, something on the lines of..... I am a non resident of Australia, however am an Australian Citizen residing in Thailand for over a decade and am looking to obtain private health cover in Australia. My question is, whilst I do not reside in Australia, can I obtain private health cover for within Australia, even though I am living in Thailand. My residency status for tax purposes, is that of a Non Resident as I live in Thailand, and as I reside in Thailand for over a 180 days a year, I am considered a resident of Thailand for tax purposes. Once I get a reply, I will post it, wrong or right, the latter would shut you down real quick wouldn't it ? I doubt it, because then you would bring something up, like, they are overhauling the system, making changes, like the DTA's....bla bla bla -

Getting a credit card
It's quite easy for a foreigner to get credit cards in Thailand. There are 3 scenarios: 1. You don't have a work permit and you don't have money in the bank : no credit card. 2. You don't have a work permit but you get some money in the bank : you can apply for a "secured credit card". 3. You have a work permit : you can apply for a credit card Years ago, I was in the scenario # 2 and I got a secured credit card. When I decided to be based in Thailand (with a TH work permit), I applied for a credit card and got it! PS: When I was based, as a foreigner, in Czech Republic, Ireland, Kenya, UK, the rules were quite similar: you have a job then you can apply for and get a credit card -
