Must go for a court hearing to NY in June. Need assistance when traveling, handicapped.

To get visa for Thai partner, is a confirmation from US law firm helpful? Directly addressed to Embassy?

Typically, the US Embassy is more interested in reasons for your Thai partner to return to Thailand. I honestly don't know if that letter would help or hurt. If the Embassy veers from this, and allowed your partner to enter based on a letter and giving you assistance, they would soon be overwhelmed with similar cases. Please understand that each applicant is viewed as doing a runner, and the Embassy wants solid evidence of reasons to return. Does your partner own property or a home? Does your Partner have a good job? Can your partner supply supporting evidence of these things?

I hope this helps. Good luck. Keep us informed, in detail.

I looked up the application form, I understand that an invitation letter or similar cannot be verified, The question = where will you stay, makes not much sense in that respect either, non-verifiable. Alas.

Is there some pre-screening possible, to say that there is a x % chance, before going through the interrogation? I know, many touts out there, but someone with a high degree of integrity?

Just to look at the documents, of course against pay. It´s about avoiding the demeaning rejection, off hand.

I'd agree that stressing your need for your partner in the US is not a good idea at all. It suggests that if, for whatever reason, you don't promptly leave the US when your business there is finished, then she won't leave, either. You of course can stay in the US for as long as you like, but she can't. So tying her visit to the US with your visit there and your need for her help is not a good idea.

To repeat what others have said, you need to show strong, valid reasons why she will return to Thailand. Showing strong, valid reasons why she needs to go the US isn't relevant. Keep your eye on what the consular official will be looking for; don't introduce distractions.

TAXOUT, I love the way you are putting the obvious=

1. Showing strong, valid reasons why she needs to go the US isn't relevant.

2.Keep your eye on what the consular official will be looking for; don't introduce distractions.

Now, the latter is a task even hard for an educated Farang to follow, to stay 100% focused. Suspense is killing me :-)

Owning property is a big plus, more so then having a job IMHO. If she can show supporting evidence, you have a good shot.

Asking questions on ThaiVisa is probably the best and cheapest pre-screening you can get.

Based on the OP, I'm assuming you are in Thailand, and have been for some time? If so, that is also very good information to supply.

Thanks to all of you. I am flabbergasted about having posted some 1300 times in 7 years on ThaiVisa.com . When stating the purpose of a posting in the right manner you always are getting a productive, constructive reaction. ThaiVisa is invaluable !
