Aircon Question - Very Brief

Recommended Posts

And according to you, there is no such thing as a compressor duty cycle (ie, high and low duty cycles)

whether you believe it or not, Maswov is right. there is no such thing like a high and low duty cycle if it is a conventional compressor as opposed to a variable speed inverter driven compressor.

1) If you get an new Inverter unit you will save (a lot) of elec vs a normal (older) unit.

2) If the thermostat is working on a new unit you will save even more electricity vs turning on and off.

3) If you're not constantly thinking about it you'll have a more peaceful relaxing life

So, whether it's you or the landlord - go ahead, change it :-)

I will believe anything that is true. But the question here is whether he should leave it on when he gets too cold. That is the main issue. You can know all you want about compressors, and if you think that leaving an ac unit on when you get too cold is saving energy, that "knowledge" aint doing you any good.
