Just wondering as I would like to get some opinions from a western and totally unbiased view point for my daughters teeth.

I could post a photo or two for the opinion.

Interested in this as a information process only for when we take her to the dentist next in case we get the usual over dramatise things.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of opinions here not worth a diddums.

The member maxme I know, is well connected within the Dentistry Fraternity, so can possibly help you?

Hopefully you get a dentist who would kindly provide pro bono advice here.

It would be nice to hear what kind of dentist you and your child have visited before. An up-market dentist in a mall, a hospital-based practice, or a local neighbourhood practice...?

Hospital based and a local neighbourhood practice.

I had a dentist talk about braces for an 8yo one time, so I am sure you understand my reasoning for getting some 'out of town' advice.

It is very simple, she has a few possible problems coming up and I would like to be as informed about them prior to actually going into a dentist for their verdict.

No Dentists?

Surprising, every other profession is represented here.

This are a lot of special forces, SAS, SEALS etc, but not too many dentists.

I'm sure someone is googling away at this very moment and I think a dentist will appear eventually.

Hopefully, you might get lucky and I do hope you get some good advice and your problem sorted. smile.png

Thanks David48, although I´m not a dentist myself I do have my connections and no, none of them are in the SAS biggrin.png

For many, they don´t know the difference between the hospitals and clinics but there is one or several depending which. Now the univeristy hospitals are well known to have highly specialized doctors as they have to train new doctors all the time and have to keep up with the knowledge and technology, but that can´t be said about governmental hospitals or low-quality dental clinics in the suburbs.

Before the governmental hospitals even held medicine auctions so they go for the lowest bidder and save some money, however, I'm not sure they still do that.

To the OP, I think showing an photo would'nt do any good, if you PM me, I can recommend you some good high-quality clinics. smile.png

Thanks.PM sent.

I do however think if a dentist saw a photo, they would be able to give a recommendation of what needs to be done etc and what should is not perhaps necessary at that age etc.

But, never mind, work with what we have and all that.

I remember once my daughter had an under-bite. Asked a dentist friend and he said can she seat I said yes he said don't worry. She is not a lot older and does not have unusual teeth.

If she has a very narrow jaw then sometimes there is insufficient room for 32 (before wisdom) teeth.

Bit more of a problem than an underbite, but just want to know if do anything now, or later etc. And yes she eats like a horse sometimes.

not trying to be funny here but a reputable dentist western or Thai will not give you treatment advice on the basis of photos, a retputable dentist will suggest a proper examination, one suspects they will advise in general terms only

Not after treatment advice as such, but their thoughts, professional opinion and all that as what is wrong, what can be done now, or what should be done in the future.

A proper examination with a western dentist is a tad hard from here ya think?

Anyway, received some good advice via PM from a Dentist after viewing the photos and all is good. Some relevant info to be aware of when I take them to the dentists here soonish. Best to be prepared with information here as much as possible and not listen to poppycock.
