April 24, 201313 yr Buy a cheap screen, keyboard and mouse and plug into your laptop - can ditch when you leave Yes that's the way to go, you might even be able to sell it before you leave.
April 24, 201313 yr The are pawn shops all over the place. You can buy new and sell it to the pawn shop or you can buy it from a pawn shop and return it to the pawn shop at the end. Pawn shop version(if you take a tower) may have a Thai version of Windows installed, but you can install Ubuntu within Windows and use that whilst you are there. The pawn shop may even agree on a price to take it back, making it effectively a rental.

April 26, 201313 yr Of course I can't. I'm in London. If you don't have time to do the legwork, then best to pop into Tukcom and to do a deal with someone on a buyback basis.
April 26, 201313 yr seriously, for the amount of money it would cost to rent buy a keyboard and a second monitor. given that computers are remarkably personal items become obsolete as soon as they are purchased why would you rent?
April 26, 201313 yr Pawnshops are crazy here--you often see items at prices similar to new ones. I have never understood how it works; perhaps those are just starting point prices? Perhaps they just go for the occasional clueless buyer.
April 27, 201313 yr Pawnshops are crazy here--you often see items at prices similar to new ones. I have never understood how it works; perhaps those are just starting point prices? Perhaps they just go for the occasional clueless buyer. I wondered the same and maybe they are starting prices as you say. Someone did suggest that some buy from them at the asking prices but on credit, pay off a little each week. An expensive way to buy if true.
