JeffreyWitty
I'm slightly disappointed - from the title of this post I figured you were talking about older falang women.
GaryNelsonHarper
Always nice to see people killing one species so that they have enough of another to kill. The last frogs are being eaten by storks!, "We must kill them and make sure we get the last frog"The word "sustainable", needs be beaten into a few heads. Storks taste like frog, BTW "If you saw how it got to the market, I doubt you would eat it"
isanbirder
Openbills don't normally eat frogs, though I don't suppose a tasty frog would go amiss. Their main diet is the apple snails which infest the rice paddies' And I am assured they taste foul.
Hedghog
Big bird conclusion. Finally got some of the meat,Bht 150,per kilo Has a similar look and texture as duck. Par froze one piece, which enabled me to cut into matchstick size pieces. Grease pan with garlic butter, fry on high heat until brown, Add to egg fried rice. Very tasty. Second piece the size of a small chicken breast. Made an incision in the meat, and inserted, frozen blue cheese sauce, similar to making chicken Kiev. Pan fried,as I would a duck breast, once the cheese started to ooze remove meat from pan,and rest for 5 minutes. Served with side salad and fresh ciabbatta, and olive oil. It worked for me. My friend who eventually procured the meat, made a green curry. Far to spicey for me,and surely couldn't taste the meat. Thank you all for your comments. Hedghog
Sorry forgot the taste test. As Goshawk requested. Definitely not in the realms of chicken. A chewable texture, with an after taste,of something akin to wet cardboard (don't laugh) but still tasty. I would say an acquired taste. Also I wouldn't go out of my way to eat it again. But happy to have tried it and not died,(yet)
Goshawk
Sorry forgot the taste test. As Goshawk requested. Definitely not in the realms of chicken... that's extremely good news... (especially for the Openbills) ...A chewable texture, with an after taste,of something akin to wet cardboard (don't laugh) Hmmm, sounds like some of the cooked chickens i've eaten in Thailand... so i guess the two do share something in common. thanks for the report back.
