Then it's clear who is to blame for the mess Thailand is in today. whistling.gif

Right, not the dems because they haven't won an ellection in 20 years.....

No, is not clear at all, Thailand is a ppolitically very unestable country, here governments change very fast.

The sooner the better.

Yes, you are, but I don't like to discuss facts speak from themselves wai2.gif

Then point out those "facts" to me, please. Which coup leaders appointed Abhisit as PM?
As ur user name says: whybother, pal?
Why bother? So you can show others that you know something other that red shirt propaganda.

Yingluk - "it is clear that elements of the anti-democratic regime still exist:"

And many of them have contributed thousands of posts to Thai Visa in the last few years.

Abhisit - "It is also not right to defend her brother, who is a fugitive wanted by the Thai authorities"

There but by the grace of god go you

I can't find anything about coup leaders appointing Abhisit. So I'll just take it that you are just copying red shirt propaganda and can't substantiate your statements.

As you wish, dear.

Mongolia seems a strange place for our PM to suddenly discover politics. Maybe because of Mongolia's central position on the world stage, and its reputation of having a free press reknown for its investigative journalism. I'm sure her statements will echo around the world, if very faintly, and cause a fair amount of amusement in those familiar with Thai politics.

Who knows, after the recess she might even start attending parliament, even answer a question or two.

Or it might be to make arrangements for the catastrophe that is about to hit Thailand. haven't you felt the strange earth tremors, strange lights in the sky at night, changing weather patterns, the strange noises between 1am and 3am? something is going to happen very.

Old and fat farangs in this forum should stop being condescendend toward Thai people

Pot and kettle comes to mind.

I think most westerners are condescending to Thais as most Thais are condescending to them in all fairness. A classic example being the old saying that 'Farangs can never know Thainess'. Is condescending to it's core. As it infers some sort of cultural / social / genetic barrier that farangs do not have the ability to overcome and so are (for wont of a better word),they are implicitly inferior.

Pot and kettle comes to mind.

Andrew Spooner - "Whilst unsubstantiated the rumour that Abhisit would be willing to be a

"coup PM" has some foundation given Abhisit's route to power in 2008

which involved support from the neo-fascist PAD,

the army and a political party which was conjured out of thin air in

order to give Abhisit a large enough "coalition" to take the PM seat."

elections to test Abhisit's mandate (his Democrat Party was crushed in the 2011 election). Almost 100 civilians died and 1000s were injured as a result and Abhisit has recently been charged with murder."

In Thailand there is a strong support for Thaksin, that's one of the reasons he was overthrew from power, somehow he was getting too popular unlike Aphisit who was putted into power buy the coup leaders.

Disclaimer: I am not a supporter of Thaksin, or any other politician.

Not difficult to be popular when giving away free money to the poor and uneducated.

What these people however don't realise is that it isn't Thaksin's or his sisters money, but that at the end of the day they pay the piper themselves.

Very naive fo your part to think that he is popular only because he gave economical help to the poor and uneducated, I know many Thaksin supporters and many of them are very rich and western educated, they supported Thaksin because for them Thaksin represents change and progress( I am not sure if what they think is right though). Old and fat farangs in this forum should stop being condescendend toward Thai people, and let them be, I am sure they know what is best for them.

I'm 58 (59 in June) although many think I look younger 1.68 metres tall and 68 kg. Am I still allowed to post?

Om85 - The coup leaders didn't appoint abhisit. If memory serves me right about 10 months after the coup there was an election which PPP won and were led with Somchai (Taksin brother in-law), he was replaced by Samak, who was then disqualified by the courts. Abhisit the the Dems then formed a coalition government as PPP /TRT /PTP were in disarray The coup leaders it has been alleged might have been pushing behind the scenes but that is unproven hyperbole by reds.

So the puppet has a voice ? Well that's about all as it certainly wouldn't be her own words and as others have said the pressure is upped and so are the stakes. It's wonderful how her fine words about law and democracy discreetly overlook the red shirts leaders call to " capture " the constitutional judges which is the start of real anarchy, the past calls to torch Bangkok and the reds making it clear they will do what it takes to get their way.

I doubt anyone has been unsure about the grand design for the country but if there was it's blatantly clear now.

A long hot summer ahead ?

The fact that you cannot find evidence doesn't really signify much. The coup leaders didnt appoint Abhisit but he was certainly the old order's candidate whose path to power was steered and guided.Frankly this is hardly a matter of much controversy and certainly not confined to red propaganda.

Wasn't the party that the other PPP MPs went (PTP) "conjured out of thin air"?

All the MPs from the PPP went somewhere. Some to a Thaksin proxy party, some to a Newin proxy party, and others elsewhere.

Is YS going into exile? I thought that leaving Thailand and start criticizing it was a thing only the fugitive on the run does. YS is becoming a coward too it seems. One way communication from a safe place far away from Thailand….pfff…

The Shins (including YS) are now going for broke. Hold tight Thailand, a big storm is approaching. The game has changed the last few weeks. Pressure is mounting on the Shins. Dozens of pawns are in jail and/or on the run.

Pressure!!!!

Yes the gloves are definitely off as instructed from Dubai and he's ruthless enough to try anything to get HIS way and the other potential problem is the sycophants here who will want to prove how loyal they are and will do anything to win approval

1. Why is it that when some people start loosing, they get very rude and insulting?

2. why is it that when some people start loosing, they become racialist.?

3. why is it that some people when replying to this forum insult the ferangs, but have been educated by the ferangs?

There will be a chance for the Thai people to endorse or reject PTP at the next general election, maybe Abhisit/Dem/Amart will win by a landslide and prove many Thai Visa contributors to be correct in their views. But then again......
