First Aid Training In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

There was discussion of a week long class on first aid a couple of years ago.

Anyone know where and when first aid classes are held?

No-one?

If you are referring to the effort that started out with a meeting at The Pub, I don't think that ever happened. I think that there would be a lot of interest in a St. John's Ambulance type First Aid course that was a maximum of two days and covered the basics you might need as a first responder - CPR, choking victim, electric shock etc. I'd certainly pay for my family to get that kind of training as I might need it one day!

I looked into this a few years ago, the only place I found in Thailand...was in Phuket.. it is a first responder course and lasts about a day and Is run by a diving company down there.

Can't remember the name of the company though.

Thanks guys. Must be some expats here capable of said training?

I arranged for my Thai staff to take a first aid course at the Red Cross a few years ago. As I recall they wanted 10 people signed up before they would start the course (we only had about 6 but paid for the full 10). The course was a week long and taught in Thai, ending with first aid & cpr certification for the participants. Can't remember any more than that but if Thai works for you then you could contact the Red Cross office by the river, just upstream from Warorot Market.

^ thanks cm das. Most helpful.

Would there be any interest here if I could get them going? I spose the Thai would be limiting for most.

There was a wilderness Advanced first aid training course held somewhere like the Prem international school, a 5 day course last year. It looks like the nearest one this year is in Singapore. http://www.nols.edu/portal/wmi/courses/wafa/ I would be interested in doing a course like this as it better fits what I need it for. Although any first aid course being held in CM in the near future would be good. I'd be interested in joining a course, although if it was all in Thai it would be tough going.
