I want to figure out the PH level in our garden. Checked several places at Kamtiang market without luck. Anyone know where I can get a simple water or sol test kit?

there are a great many garden shops behind Tesco's, selling every chemical you can think of. I'm sure you'll find a soil testing kit there.

Put a handful of soil into each of two paper cups and add water. Add lemon juice to one, and baking soda to the other. See which one bubbles... It won't tell you the numbers but it will tell you if your soil is acidic or basic.

I've found pH testers in a couple of places in CM, one of which is Union Science near CMU. the other is an Ag supply company recently relocated to the 121 hwy between the Doi Saket road and the San Kampaeng road. around 2K Baht. no idea of their efficacy.

those pH test kits from the aquarium stores only give you whole numbers and are pretty worthless because of that.

you can have your water tested at Mae Jo University, I'm informed by a professor there. I think the cost is 5-600B.

that professor told me that there was a soil testing facility on the highway near the U and you can have your soil tested there for free. two caveats: it's free for Thais and it could take several months to get the results.
