Ahh apologies...

Settlement visa for my Thai Wife to go to the UK with me.

Letter of Invitation from my family in the UK, inviting us to stay with them. Its been sent via email, I've printed it off (including all headers etc)

Do you know if this would be a problem? Would i need a hand-written letter/original signature, or will an email be acceptable?

I can produce the original email on request - can forward it to them if needed, but as they don't accept DVD's, USB Ram sticks etc i can only print it off in the first instance - the letter clearly states that if they need confirmation to call the number supplied in the letter, but i assume the UKBA would not do that.

Thanks

I have used an email before. My sister, who we were going to be staying with just set it out like a letter with address at the top right and there wasn't a problem, even without a signature. On another occasion she just wrote the letter, scanned it and sent it to me. I then printed it (with signature), it was obviously scanned and I told the ECO that it was a scanned copy, again no problems. The email was for a visit visa and the scanned version was for a settlement visa and both successful.
