There's a good few true stories about these young ladies, but sadly, it's off topic...

the kimono dragon is the last thing you see before you realize that cute little girl you brought home from the club is actually a lemon squeezer.

Thanks for the play on words from Naam's comment. I had a chuckle. clap2.gif

indeed, i believe the kimono dragon is the only extant species of dragon with one eye

There's a 3.59 megabyte .wav file of a Balinese tookay that's free to download at SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/suarakecil/geko

But, I suspect this lovestruck swain is a post-op katheoy tookay, since he lacks the stuttering start-off that's so wonderful, and his voice is definitely high tenor.

I suggest you set your media player speed to 25%, and loop.

I listen to this when I get lonely for hours, because life is so timeless, and there's only two of me in here.

i have no experience of tookays apart from hearing them outside at night, I dont mind the noise ...i find it kind of soothing as i fall to sleep,

About 2 years ago i had a bad experience with a large monitor lizard,

While make coffee early morning in the kitchen i heard a noise above my head in the false ceiling but as i turned around with the coffee pot in hand a monitor lizard came crashing through along with 4 of the plaster board squares and frame work;

Lizard hit me on the shoulder scratching my ear as it went past,

The coffee pot had already smashed on the floor, i just ran out and closed the glass sliding door behind me. It took hours to catch and get it out and it wrecked the kitchen.

Any creature that doesn't brush and floss their teeth regularly will have a bacteria problem ( along with mighty bad bad breath) - or maybe it is just a defence strategy against ending up as an ingredient in Som Tum .biggrin.png

The Orient is overrated. The kimono dragon is obviously no match for the trouser snake.

Fast.. venomous.. lethal.

I love sarcasm.

I was originally going to say about the same thing. That is until I googled Tokays and they do have a rather nasty bite and their salica carries a bacteria similar to the monitor lizards.

Well, they are lizards, so not entirely surprising.

I have heard many stories about the brother of a friends cousin who had his face bitten off by a Tookay, I am yet to meet that man in person.

No one I know, friends or passing acquaintances, either Thai or western that has every suffered more than a sleepless night caused by a male one that is horny and lonely.

You ignore them, they are more than happy to ignore you, if you want to befriend one on the other hand, they do like Spam.

one of them took my mates toe, one bite and gangrene set in, more aggressive than a centipede, certainly more painful.

one of the few animals in thailand that scare me. apparently they have more toxic bacteria in their mouths than the kimodo dragon

5555555 Yup they're ferocious alright!

I have an entire house full of them in Issan, if yours are really large (say 350 grams up) and you're scared of them we will come to the rescue 5555555!
