Insurance For My Thai Partner

Featured Replies

HI guys, I am looking to do a bit of travelling and want the peace of mind that my thai girlfriend is covered if she were to get sick or have an accident.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times before but what company would you recommend going with?

That's it! Cheers in advance for any replies.

Where do you live and where are you traveling to?

Does your partner have health insurance? Does your partner have accident insurance?

No she has neither mate. She is staying here in Phuket - I have to go home for a few months.

Are you talking insurance in Thailand or abroad?

If in Thailand then your gf has access to the Thai medical but she may have to transfer from her home hospital to phuket. Other wise look at Bupa. They have offices in Thailand.

It really helps if you could give important information.

So if I understand you correctly you're living here together, but you're going home for a few months while she is staying in Thailand.

I must say I don't see the link with you traveling, either she needs/wants healt insurance or not, can't see how your presence/absence has any bearing on that. But in any case, check out the health insurance options. I'm covered by Bupa and am happy with that. But as mentioned, if she is Thai, she will also be eligible for the Thai free healthcare.

Bupa Insurance is the gold standard here in Thailand. It should pretty much cover every conceivable accident/injury/illness.

This forum really is hard work at times.... thanks for the BUPA heads up though.

Thanks mate.... BUPA seems like a good, cost effective option.
