Hi there,

I have a tourist visa with multiply entry. On Monday, 13th May, my first 60 days are over. I wanted to go then to Immigration to get a 30 days extension. But I realized now that Monday is a holiday. Sounds like the usual stupid farang mistake, but I intentionally downloaded a Thai holiday calendar to be aware of this kind of trouble :-( All other holidays were shown but not this one.

Actually now, I don´t know what to do. Can I go on Tuesday, with one day overstay, to Immigration, pay 500 THB and get an extension or do I have to go to the boarder? By the way, it is Samui Immigration, if this does make any differences.

All advices are appreciated.

Thanks so much for your help.

Good old Royal Ploughing holiday. I see it is for govenment people only, What are they Ploughing ?

You visa will have expired so they only thing to do is head to the border.

You can go on first workday after a holiday and extend normally without overstay. But next time do it early as you lose nothing - time starts from end of current permitted to stay.

It should not be a problem since the 13th is a holiday as others have stated. But have 500 baht available just in case since you are doing it at Samui.

You really should have gone during the last week but

you should be OK by going to Immigration on Tuesday.

As I said, I learned today that Monday is a holiday.

Btw guys, thanks for your help. It was no problem at all. They didn't ask me about the overstay and they were also not asking for the 500 THB. I just had to pay the usual 1920 THB.

There is no overstay if you extend on first workday after holiday as you did - that day is included in the extension of stay.

Actually you asked if could do with one day overstay - I tried to answer that question in post 4 as it would be "without overstay".

I´ve read your post. Thanks very much :-)

I just thought it will be no problem but I didn´t get it that there will be no actual overstay. But thanks, now I know.

The fee is 1900 baht for the extension.

Download and fill out Extension of Temporary Stay in The Kingdom Application Form (TM. 7)

Attach required photo to application.

Make copy of passport photo page, visa and entry/permit to stay stamps. Copy TM6 departure card.

In an archived thread, it said form TM7 had to be printed double sided? Is two separate sheets acceptable to immigration?

Sorry I forgot to mention that it had to be printed two sided since they will not accept two separate sheets.
