Lite Beer
Incendiary blast at Thai Rath condemnedThe Nation BANGKOK: -- Bang Sue police are investigating an attack at the Thai Rath daily headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road early Sturday, during which a small incendiary and two petanque balls were thrown at the guard box, causing property damage and minor injuries to a security guard.Deputy Pheu Thai party spokesman Anusorn Iamsa-ard said the incident had nothing to do with an ongoing conflict between Pheu Thai-allied red shirts and the paper's cartoonist Chai Rachawat, whose criticism of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra posted on his Facebook page, caused a furore recently. The Thai Journalist Association yesterday issued a statement condemning the attack and called for a speedy investigation and arrest of those behind the violence.Police, quoting the three guards on duty who witnessed the 3am attack, said two men on a motorcycle stopped near the front gate and the pillion rider approached it on foot. He then threw two petanque balls at the guard box, hitting a glass window with one. The attacker then threw a large firework at the guards. The blast caused the remaining window to shatter, injuring one guard's arm.The guards said two other men were seen on another bike parked at a distance acting as lookouts. All four then fled north on Vibhavadi Road. -- The Nation 2013-05-

How can he know that unless he knows who the perps were? At this juncture and prior to a thorough investigation, it's impossible for him to know there's no connection. It's a preemptive diversion to distract from the most obvious suspects. Perhaps he learned that from "Pheu Thai-allied red shirts" lawyer Amsterdam.

A fire work and two ( yes two ) petanque balls thrown at a guard box. More evidence of red shirt excessive violence and the imminent collapse of Thai society as we know it. Will Yingluck and this family stop at nothing ?? ( Where did they get the strength, them petanque balls are heavy )

What do you expect of people who voted for a party which openly declared that - if they won the election - they would put the least qualified person in the whole of Thailand on the PM seat.
OzMick
After "Cry 'Havoc' and let slip the dogs of war" it can be very difficult to get them back on the leash. Refusing to take responsibility for their later actions is a bit rich though.

Here we have it from a PT and red supporter, the first to come outright and attribute blame. Wonder Philw how you would like that lot chucked at your place? However given the recent publicity it does not seem unreasonable that there could be some connection.
NongKhaiKid
It's wrong to jump to hasty conclusions but sometimes it's inevitable and with the current political situation hard not to so for this reason I have to say the Thai Journalists' Association call for a speedy investigation and arrests will only result the the appropriate BS and very little action as PTP and the reds don't want any possible link to them or their members being established. Wonder if DSI will call Abhisit and Suthep in for interview ?
Popular Post OzMick
There is always the faint possibility that this was the act of a disgruntled advertiser who had his personal ad mistakenly placed in "Men Seeking Men" but given the angry rhetoric currently aimed at this paper by both PTP and the reds (for those who recognise siamese twins as separate personalities), it is a fairly safe assumption where this attack originated. Of course, our PTP/red apologist pooh-poohs this attack as a triviality, but to me an explosive device powerful enough to shatter plate glass is no minor matter. I acknowledge that security guards are agents of oppression of the expression of free will of the red masses and deserve to be deafened, maimed or even killed for standing outside a newspaper that employs someone who criticized our proxy leader (though not IN the newspaper). They should consider themselves lucky they weren't RTA conscript soldiers, then it would have been M79 or hand grenades. Warning - the above post contains sarcasm.

Maybe he's right, maybe not, but how would he know.....unless the PTP have complete control of the red shirts and are in a position to order attacks on enemies of the party. I beg to differ They are not that smart Sadly when you build a movement, such as the Reds/PTP, then you are going to have the nutters within these type of movements who want to take it all one step further. "I am more radical than you" "I am more committed" "I am more red" and so on. So as far as I'm concerned, it's bleedin' ooobvious, ain't it?
