That would have only been 500 Malaysian. Also I think where you make the exchange makes a difference some exchanges here in Chiang Mai give better rates than banks and others. I have heard there is one by the Iron Bridge and one by Thai Pha gate that give the best rates. I imagine it will be the same in Malaysia.
