WilliamCave
I see many thai relationships with younger women with older thai men. The usual story i get is they like an older man because they are more mature and are not out at night sewing there oats as a young man does and they are better to take care . It is not much different from western culture many years ago , westerners look at it as not a good thing now a days but it was the same many years ago here . My grandparents before they married the man had to have a house or home stead or something to show he could support a women. Usually the man was in his 30s or older and they married girls in there teens It is not much different here now in Thailand. Maybe it shows women are more mature than men .at different ages My wife told me that is why she didn't want to marry a young man and she was not interested in younger men , we are 9 years apart she is 40 and i am 49. What are your views on this younger women with older men ?

Popular Post poanoi
No doubt any 20 year old girl, thai or not, has been day dreaming at least a couple of years, of passionate sex with a 60 year old man. same as i was daydreaming of sex with a pensioner when i was in my teens Edited May 18, 2013 by poanoi
robblok
Seen it often some of my wifes friends dit it too. said it was not about mature but about money. Mature is just covering it, one of her friends wat the mia noi of an older guy as long as he paid. Meanwhile she had younger bf's for the "good times". How do I think about it, lets reverse it would you guys want to be in a relation with a female 10 or 20 years older then you if you are not financially compensated.. most goes for Thai girls too. But as always there are always exceptions to this rule and that is between the guy and his girl.
Issangeorge
I think for successful marriage the age gap should be under 20 years I am 14 years older than my wife and it seems to work however I think people who are 30 years older than their wives once the wife is 30 the man is 60 and when the wife is 35 the man is 65 and perhaps getting too old for the wife. yourauntbob
It all depends on the people, but I dont see how anyone has a connection with someone half their age. the older you get the larger the gap can be, but i dont see ever being with someone less than 75% of my age. Popular Post PalMan
In the females of many species besides ours, besides physical attractiveness, and in many contexts more powerful than that, is the (usually? subconscious) assessment of power, dominance, not just physically but most importantly socially. The underlying cause of this is believed to be the fact that a stable relationship with a decent provider is an evolutionary advantage for species that require a long period of child-rearing. Societies that are closer to our species roots in barely-surviving are more accepting of these biologically based factors, while those earlier-developed western ones like to think "romance" and "love" are the only valid basis for choosing a mate. Whose to say what's "right" or "wrong" in my opinion the issue has nothing to do with morality as long as both parties are entering into the agreement of their own free will, no coercion involved. Those who claim that poverty is a form of coercion have a (IMO small) point, but looking at the issue globally, poverty is the norm, and for myself I can only admire anyone willing and able to do whatever it takes to escape it.
Popular Post Morden
It's not the business of anyone else and, in any case, who has the qualifications or right to decide what is an acceptable maximum age difference? One might argue that any relationship where one partner is better off than the other is prostitution. How about your first marriage, Muythai? I suspect that those who argue that a large age difference in a relationship is prostitution to one full time customer have a personal preference for multi-partner prostitution.
Popular Post Banzai99
Yep, I'm sure Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Rod Stewart will look at a bunch of old losers on ThaiVisa, drop their girlfriends immediately, and go after the grandmothers instead. I know a guy who is in his late 70’s, he has a very young wife, she's still in her teens, he treats her like a princess and she seems happy enough, of course, there is more to it than that, but the old bitter and twisted men of ThaiVisa would never understand, they are just jealous, same as I am. Lets see, he's happy, you're not, not much more to say.

Popular Post Banzai99
ThaiVisa members have found the secret to eternal happiness, the fountain of youth, and the ability to attract rich and powerful young women with PHD's coming out of their azz who seem inexorably drawn to old men. The rest of the old guys who come to Thailand only have money to offer to bargirls, but it never applies to ThaiVisa members, they're different !

Banzai99
I think the problem with ThaiVisa members is, they are just too old, so us younger guys find it hard to relate to them. When I'm old, I hope I am more tolerant.

Popular Post trainman34014
I know a 41 year old Thai woman who is the sole earner in a family of five. Father too old to work, mother cooks and cleans, looks after daughter of 41 year old, 37 year old sister works but after accident on motorbike can't work for at least another year. The 41 year old earns 6,000 Baht a month and supports the whole family. Their 'living accommodation' consists of a small house of four rooms built with, what I call 'Breeze Blocks', the roof being rough timber supports with corrugated asbestos. This roof leaks like a sieve when it rains as there are cracks and gaps all over the place. The two Sisters and 11 year old girl share one small bedroom and the Parents have the other and they all basically sleep on the floor with the odd mattress and blankets. A 17'' TV offers what comfort there is but there are no chairs to sit on. Meals are cooked outside and they all sit on the floor to eat. Now then; the 41 year old has met a 78 year old friend of mine who is reasonably able and comfortable for money, not rich but comfortable He rents a house near where I live and never wanted to buy.. He asked me to meet the family and help him decide if he wanted to marry this woman who he has not yet slept with and has given no money to as yet. I told him as far as I was concerned it isn't really my business but in my opinion he could do with a bit of company and this family most certainly would be grateful for his help. If he goes ahead with this relationship it will transform the lives of this family who have suffered poverty for many years. It will most probably never be a relationship based on what most of us would call 'love' but does it really matter if all parties are happy? Age gaps are irrelevant in many cases and it's all about the needs of folk and perhaps how 'caring' Human Beings can be toward each other. Popular Post Morden
reality is lost on so many people And kids have to learn it. My wife is a good bit younger than me and has her own business. She relies financially on me for nothing but I do like to treat her to nice things like a second home and a second car. You'll understand when you are more mature that life isn't simply the black and white picture that you see at the moment. You will also learn in time that people who are happy in their relationships don't give a damn what other people think.
