Hi

Sorry probably a stupid question, my wife has been in the UK since 2007 on indefinite leave to remain. On completing a application for her daughter to come to the UK she needs to complete one of the appendix's.

Can I assume appendix 1 is the correct one? It refers to being in the UK prior to July 12 on limited leave to remain, (however she was on indefinite leave to remain) is this just the wording?

Also with a Phor Kor 14 document in Thai, I assume this would need to be translated into English prior to any appointment and also if so can this be translated by someone at the application centre?

Thanks in advance!!!

You need Appendix 1.

You cannot get translations done at the application centre, but there are plenty of translation agencies around that area, and probably in the same building. I would advise you getting it done before you go to submit the application though, as you don't actually know what it says ? I think you should make sure it says the right thing before you submit it.

Just completed the online application for child to come to the UK as settlement (mother here in UK since 2007, and on ILR since 2009).

My understanding is that Appendix 1 needs to be completed alongside the application (and still is) however at the end of the VFS application the last page tells you to pick an appendix.

On appendix 1 it does not even mention a child applying only adults.

On appendix 2 it says child applying as a dependent of parent already settled in UK.

I assume this appendix (2) relates to parents that came to UK after rules changed in 2012 and that appendix 1 should still be the one to complete even though it doesnt tell you too?
Do you think this is correct?

THanks

I can't answer your question, I'm afraid; haven't got my head round all these appendices yet!

But, on a separate note, make sure that your wife provides sufficient evidence to show that she has been exercising sole responsibility throughout the separation and that whoever is currently caring for the child confirms this when the embassy phone them up.

See Refusal Of Entry Clearence Child 8 Years Old for the problems that can arise if you haven't prepared this aspect properly.

Appendix 1 does mention children, and it is the Appendix you need to complete.

Hi Tony

Yes Appendix 1 on the form does mention children so I assume that is correct

BUT on the VFS screen on the last page of the application it does not tell you to complete Appendix 1 but Appendix 2! I have sent you a screenshot on pm (hope it is visible!) this is what I am finding confusing though I agree Appendix 1 should be completed but it is confusing

I didn't receive any PM or attachment. The point is, it doesn't matter what it says on the VFS screen. You need Appendix 1.
