PM orders increased security in Ramkhamhaeng; no suspect found

BANGKOK, May 27 - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra instructed security agencies to step up security measures in Bangkok's Ramkhamhaeng area following last night's blast which injured seven people. Police are still unable to locate any suspect.

The Chao Phraya express boat fares to rise 2baht

BANGKOK, 27 May 2013 (NNT) – The Chao Phraya express boat company prepares to raise its fare by 2 baht by mid July 2013.


The managing director of the Chao Phraya Express Boat Co., Ltd. says that an official document has been filed to the Director-General of the Marine Department stating the need to raise the fare as soon as the 90-day price pegging period is over.

He stated that if the fare was not raised, the company would suffer a loss of 16 million baht this year. The company will also send a program of improvement in its service which will include increasing the frequency of trips and expanding service hours.

Man arrested following sexual assault on 12 year old girl in East Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A 45 year old Thai man was arrested early on Monday Morning accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl which the suspect claims was in revenge for non-payment of a 1,000 Baht loan by the victim’s Mother.

Two officers killed, eight wounded in separate Pattani bombings

PATTANI, May 27 - One border patrol police officer was killed in a bombing in the southern province of Pattani following a bomb ambush near a school here earlier today.

The police pick-up truck was caught in a roadside bomb ambush in Saiburi district, leaving one police officer, Sen Sgt-Maj Narit Horsungnern, dead and wounding four other officers.

The incident occurred hours after another bomb exploded near a school in the same district.

One army ranger was killed and four others were wounded.

The school temporarily closed while many students suffered from ringing in the ears were rushed to hospital. (MCOT online news)
