Can anyone suggest a decent place that can do a very minor auto body repair & paint. I have an ER6n motorcycle that I want to have the rear fender(rear hugger) extended with fiberglass & repainted flat black or matt. I searched the fist 40 Pattaya pages for one of the older posts & Timekeeper & others had some good info but didn't need any work at the time. I can easily do the repair myself but it is not worth the 1000-2000 baht to lay the glass. I tried just ordering a hugger for the ER6n but it is next to impossible unless it is a 2012-2013. Mine is 2011 & they changed the design & fitting in 2012.

Thanks for the tips!!!!!!

You know the entrance to my village? Right behind that restaurant there is an auto body shop. Several neighbors have used them and all are very happy. Might give them a try and they are not too far from you!

today i took my wifes honda Jazz to the paint shop next door to the flashy sports car place on sukhumvit road

it will be there for the next 5 days removing the minor evidencial markings of 5 years abuse by motorbikes, cars , bicycles, bollards, posts etc etc

i have been going there for more than 10 years

he has probably dealt with 30+ cars from my own stock and my circle of friends

the boss is a lovely guy

the work is very good

the price is reasonable

he is reliable

i am happy to highly recommend him

Thanks Blackman ! do you know by any chance is they accept "insurance jobs" ?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that in my original post.

Can you give a better description of the shop ? is right or left if I stand in front

of the "flashy sports car" shop ?

I assume that's the only one that had Ferries and other top end cars on Sukhumvit

in Pattaya ....

Thanks a lot !

There is a body shop on Sukhumvit heading north, a couple of hundred metere's before the lights for (I think the waterworks) and Naklua.

Apologies for the rather vague directions, but the shop is set back a few metere's from the road with a distinctive yellow arch as you pull into it, and quite recognisable once you know what you're looking for.

I, and a few friends have had minor work done there, no complaints from anyone, priced very reasonably, and excellent quality (couldn't tell my car had even been previously damaged, and still can't to this day)!

Boy Sound on Sukumvit also does minor fiberglass and body repairs and painting. They were recommended by both the Honda and Toyota dealerships. I was pleased with their work.

Thanks for the replies.

Toyota straight up didn't want to do anything that involved being creative & I think they tried to send me to boy air but called it ....Auto racing shop. I never found it. The ocean Marina(actually the marine shop behind the Ocean Marina) didn't want to take a chance on the plastic & fiberglass not holding together so I went to Kawasaki & they cut me off a 2012 custom hugger & I riveted the old part to the new part & epoxied the surfaces up. So it is quite strong. I am having BP motorcycles do a carbon fiber wrap to give it the professional look. It would have been easy but they discontinued the hugger I wanted. The available rear fenders are to short to be useful. The upside is it is 1000+ baht cheaper this way & it should look great. I was amazed at the shops hating to take on anything other than a parts re-placer type job. But this is Thailand any other country loves doing custom work that requires using your brain.Indonesia will build you anything if you can describe the job & give a simple drawing they are on it. Oh well. Thanks for the info on paint shops. I think I will just bring up my painting guns so I don't have to hear any more tales of laziness from the shops here .
