Hey guys, I've just received my Thai birth cert from the ministry of foreign affairs today. Due to my oversight, I overlooked the age of my mum that was listed on on the birthcert on the informant section. As in her current age.

Would there be any issue? All other information are correct. Just her age under the informant section.

Yes - if it gets noticed, there will be a problem. My children's Thai birth certificates were issued by the Thai Embassy in London several years ago. We've used them for all sorts of things since, and they've been validated by various Embassies and FO's when living in other countries, schools here etc. This year, whilst applying for my annual visa extension a shap eyed immigration officer spotted a discrepancy. My wife's maiden name on the birthcertificates is slightly incoorrect. One letter is slightly different from how it is written on the Thai marriage certificate. It's a very tiny discrepancy but immigration would not accept the birthcertificates this time, although they had previously, and I had to re-do the forms taking referenc to the children off, supply new photos without them etc.

We now have the problem of getting this corrected.

Suggest you bring your original documents back to the District Office and point out the discrepancy. District Officer will make copies of relevant documents, you sign these copies, and the DO will then ask you to sign a 1-page request form. DO will need a week or two to determine how error was made and by what office before correcting document.

The actual birthdate on my daughter's Thai birth certificate and on her household registration booklet are different, and we are going through this process right now.

Unless then has been a change within the last decade an actual birth certificate can never be changed - only extra paperwork can be provided to show change and will always have to be carried along with original BC. It is very important to make sure information is correct.

lopburi3 is correct. and my daughter's birth certificate is correct. our problem is that the birthdate was erroneously copied to the household registration, and that can be fixed.
